Palisades Sill Historic Marker

Stop here to marvel at the rock walls climbing over the Cimarron river. We went through a wash out to get here, but worth a moment to stop and stretch your legs in the heart of Cimarron Canyon State Park

This was a very beautiful stop along the enchanted circle. The river is very close. Very nice place to stop and stretch your legs.

One of my most favorite spots in this canyon! If you have time pull over and hike around and eat lunch at the river. If you are just passing through you can still enjoy the amazing g views of the rock outcropping from the window of your vehicle. Seriously! Such a beautiful spot!

There are even some places to fish. Most of the trout are small, and the Cimarron is narrow here.

Beautiful spot, great place to stream fish for rainbow and German brown trout. I'll forever associate that towering formation with my boys all catching their first fish.

We ALWAYS visit the Palisades when we are here. It is definitely worth the stop... get out, stretch your legs... you'll be amazed!

Melanie and I was going down 25 going to Las Vegas NM and took a right turn on 64. Just loved the ride very much and is so beautiful will be going that way again.

I loved the mountains and the little rest spot by the river . It was a great place to stop and see a great views. There are trails nearby you can walk. Definitely stop here .
