The owner has 30+ years of flyfishing experience. Great with clients of all ages from novice to expert. Clients fish private waters so trout are never fished out.

We went fly fishing with one of Jeff’s guides (Big Todd) last year and had a great time. There were 4 of us and everyone landed plenty of fish! We look forward to going again in august of this year.

Just got back from a great day with Todd fishing on some private waters in a beautiful quiet area, with cool water and a big beaver dam. It doesn’t get better than this. Two nice rainbows and a cutbow, and a big one that got away! I learned a lot from Todd about technique and the best fishing in northern NM and southern CO. He made it safe and fun. Highly recommend Fagan’s.

My first time to ever hold a fly rod, let alone fly fish. Jeff was an outstanding instructor, patient, and encouraging. He’s been doing this for 20+ years so he knows his stuff! He also has access to some private areas that most other guides don’t have. Within about 45 minutes after starting to cast I got the hang of it and was casting with confidence. The trip ended well with me catching 2 “trophy” rainbows at 22+ inches each and each estimated to weigh close to 5 lbs! (His words; not mine.). This is a memory of a lifetime, and I highly recommend Jeff Fagan to help you create your lifetime memory.

Had a great time with our guide Chuck (Cadillac Jack). We were able to net some fish on a beautiful private lake. Chuck was very patient and a great teacher. We had lots of fun and plan to be back.

Can’t say enough good things about our trip and guide, Todd. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us for our first time fly fishing. Showed us the ropes and included a lot of nature and fly fishing facts. Caught fish and felt more like fishing with a friend than just a guide. Definitely recommend booking a trip and asking for Todd. We now feel comfortable enough to fly fish on our own, but it wouldn’t be as fun without him so we’ll be back. Great location and easy to make reservation with everything you need.

Guide extraordinaire. Did a great job setting us up and putting us on the fish - caught fish in a private lake with native population of bows and brooks. Then hit the river for an hour or so. Quite a productive day. Jeff shared his expertise readily and told us about the history of the Red River fisheries. Great guide with heaps of experience. Can’t go wrong choosing this guide service.

Jeff was great! We were first-time fly fisherman. He taught us the basics and I caught a rainbow within five minutes. We caught fish all morning. He was patient with us and has a great sense of humor. I would recommend him to anyone

Jeff was very knowledgeable and taught us all the basics of fly fishing from what types of things the fish eat to how to cast and set a hook. He put us on fish almost all day long.

We were dissappointed in our fishing trip! First, I would say that our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. However, we didn't catch any fish, and I think the main reason was that we were taken to a small tank that had clearly been over fished. We could have done this at home (700+ miles away). We did not move locations and only tried one different fly over the course of our time fishing. My two kids (16 & 18) have been looking forward to this trip as they enjoy fishing. I will ask more questions next time.
