The Standing Bear Lodge is an interesting, questionable place. The staff "phones in the service" for the most part. They act like they don't really want to be there and have little interest in answering any questions from the paying guests. There are a few random kids wandering around and a few dogs who beg for food as soon as a place is found to sit and eat. The whole place is random... The place has great potential if the staff made an effort to be helpful, if they made even the smallest effort to clean the place up a bit and pick up and clean periodically.

Do no stay here…. We paid almost $1000.00 a night. Second day was the first time the hot tub was used.
I’m an owner of several hot tubs…. We called service to report unclean hot tub.
They came and put so much chlorine in,
Which only made it uncomfortable.
The hot tub did not have a working filter.
7 days later they charged us $500.00 because the hot tub was dirty.
This house is ok, very very dated.
We rented for the hot tub for therapy from skiing.

Ironically My family chose this lodge over nicer homes for hot tub. We stayed 4 nights, hot tub was used 3 times. After first use it was reported to @reservationsunlimited that filter was clogged and no water moving through. Chlorine was dumped but filter was left in place. After 3rd use water was getting dirty. 8 days after returning home card was charged $500 to clean dirty hot tub. IMO I would not stay at this rental due to fraudulent charge. @reservationsunlimited
Heat for house was tied to 1st floor so basement bedrooms were with freezing or very hot.

No problems until we were charged $500 for “dirty hot tub” a week after we left ..very disappointed in management and owner ..

Avoid this place
