Home away from home. The local libraries in Monmouth, Indepenence and Dallas are full of the most helpful staff, who create such a great variety of community programing to encourage and develop engagement.

What a great "small town" library! Books, videos, audiobooks, public use computers, and a warm and friendly staff. Come enjoy!!!

Gorgeous library with a good selection of books. Staff is friendly. There are nice workstations with plugins near the back of the library. The library itself is airy, sunny, and relaxing. Couldn't recommend more.

P.S. I don't know why the other poster is complaining about not being able to renew a book with a hold on it. Despite what they say, this is standard practice for all the libraries in the area (and most others in the US that I've been to, too). I'm a member of the Chemeketa regional library and I have never been able to renew a book from anywhere with a hold on it. I think they are just ticked off that they couldn't finish their book.

I visit this library on average at least once a week. Not only is the library about four times the size I'd expect for a town this big, it has an excellent selection and a very fast hold system by which you can get books from other libraries in the region. There is also a large selection of DVDs, including brand new releases, old classics, and everything in between. The library is attached to Overdrive, allowing you to check out a variety of ebooks and audiobooks online.

I have on several occasions asked the staff for assistance, and always received it. The staff has occasionally gone above and beyond, suggesting books and offering help. The atmosphere is overall peaceful.

There's another review saying the librarians are rude. I have never found this. However, I understand how the impression may have occurred, since the librarians aren't necessarily bubbly people, and may be distracted. But once they notice you, they'll go out of their way for you. For example, if there's more than one person in line, often another librarian will pop up out of nowhere to check out your books, so you don't have to wait.

Was looking for a new book to read and came across this place, it's great! They let me borrow the book for free, good deal! The other books in stock are well organized using some sort of decimal system. The staff is very helpful and the facility is clean and comfortable. I’ll be back again soon!

The Monmouth Public Library does a great job of providing a wide variety of books in the various types of genre for readers of all ages. Their participation in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service also allows them to provide literary resources well beyond what one would normally expect from a library of their size.
Our library is always looking for ways to enhance the knowledge base of its members and it recently got some extra help in that area. The library was named a recipient of a NASA @ My Library grant. The grant will fund activities at the library between now and the "Big Eclipse" on Aug 21, 2017. Activities will be designed to teach individuals, both young and old, about the science behind a solar eclipse as they prepare for being in the Path of Totality during this once in a lifetime event. Way to go Monmouth Library!
