I took Walter home with me that day. He's doing fabulous, unfortunately we found out that he has Lyme disease. He will be treated and pampered for the rest of his hopefully long long life. I just love him!

Just recently adopted my second pet from Esther Boyd. The first I adopted many years back and the second Just a few weeks ago. So glad to have given my pups a second chance and bringing them home

I am very very impressed by this excellent facility. I have been working with them over the past few weeks, for a stray cat we found that is so sweet and loving and deserves a great home. Unfortunately he has a bad leg from an old injury that didn't heal correctly. But otherwise in excellent condition and gets around quite well. A handsome golden cat 🐈💙. I have had to call several several times, and almost always talked to Dana who was so amazing, kind and so patient with my many questions and persistence to make sure Mellow was cared for and found a good home. She went waaaay above and beyond her job, to help out this cat and me, in trying to figure out best care and placement for him. She is an incredible asset to this shelter and is such a Gem! They are so blessed to have her. I can tell she really loves the animals and her job. I was very fortunate to get to chat with her and get to know through this experience. I would definitely visit this shelter if we ever decide to adopt another pet. They are so caring, again, especially Dana! 💙🐈💙

We adopted a pet from this shelter and we were thoroughly impressed. The shelter is immaculately clean, the care givers are friendly to guests and warm and loving to their charges. This shelter is a model for what all shelters should be like.

Was looking for another kitty so we visited Ester Boyd. Everything was very clean especially the animal areas & bathrooms. I even commented that it smelled good. The animals looked in good condition & well cared for. The entire staff was very friendly & helpful as we looked around. They were informative about their animals. Happy to say we found our new kitty. The adoption process was easy & inexpensive. Felt so bad we couldn’t take more kittens with us. Well worth any donations we can give. Thanks Ester Boyd. Job well done!

We adopted a cat from here. The facility is very clean and well taken care of. The staff are very friendly. They let you take your time and really spend some time with the animals before deciding if one is right for you. The staff also is very caring about animals not currently in thier care. When we lost one of our cats we notified the shelter just in case he turned up there. The shelter checked in for several months and would have kept him on the missing pets list for as long as we wanted.

We dropped off bags of towels and sheets that they always need. But of course we had to look around. The facility is clean and neat so are the dog and cat cages. Every animal has a bed to sleep on. There weren't many animals there so that gave me a feeling of hope for the ones that were. You get to go in or drop off by appointment only. The staff was friendly and working. ♡

The most caring people i have come across in a very long time. So compassionate. I had to take our old dog back to them after 14 years because we could no longer care for him. The staff made such a sad experience a little bit better with their kindness. Big, big thank you!

They truly care of the welfare of their animals. I have gotten a dog and unfortunately I had to take him back. I could not keep him safe, and was so worried that he wouldn't be adopted quick enough, plus I got him as a pup and know he was a grown man. but they assured me they do not kill unless health is an issue. They got so much information from me to make sure that he found a better suited home. Which I was informed he did. It broke my heart to see him go. But I knew I did the right thing. They keep a very clean facility, and all the cute animals are well taken care of. Happy as they can be for being in a shelter. This is a place you should definitely visit when in search for a new fur baby, or if you just would like to volunteer some time or get a little a I al therapy yourself. Great and knowledgeable staff.

One of us the best shelters in this area! The facility is super clean and well maintained. Unfortunately there are many animals that need homes and although that's great for options, that means there are so many animals that still need to be adopted. The people who work there are genuinely caring people who love animals and they really make a point to connect with potential pet owners. This is the shelter to go to if you're looking for a furry loved as an addition to your family!

We moved to our new neighborhood and our beloved cat got out and got himself lost in the first week. I posted fliers and went door . I searched for two months. Finally, I went to the shelter for the second time and there he was. Someone had seen him 4 blocks from my house and called animal control just 4 days earlier. My boy was well taken care of in those four days. I was so excited and appreciative for the shelter who took care of my boy until we were reunited!

This is the kind of place that helps renew your faith in human kindness. Like the lady for whom it is named, the people at the Esther Boyd Animal Shelter take in the animals that have been lost or abandoned and help them find new homes where they can be loved and valued. They are a blessing for our community.
