Gou Lou Cheong BBQ Restaurant

As a Chinese who has lived most of my life out in Asia, this is the real deal. Rarely can you find in the US, a shop just dedicated to Cantonese roast meats. The only big pity is that you can’t dine in here.

I'm going to be completely honest... I was worried at first. But the constant stream of fellow Asians is always a good sign.

I am now in love and this is my favorite place to get authentic meats.

We bought cripsy pork, honey roasted spare ribs, roast duck, and honey roasted pork meals. It was simply amazing. The rice is absolutely perfect and the side of steamed nappa cabbage compliments everything perfectly. Very reasonably priced too, typically $11 - $13 depending on which meal you get.

The crispy pork and honey roasted spare ribs are very popular! Actually, everything is, so DO NOT wait until 5 PM or later to secure it. They might run out!

I only experienced take out only food. Good variety of Chinese foods available. Taste pretty good. Also I paid in cash so do not know if they accept credit/debit payments.

Everything was ice cold... Crispy Pork, Ribs , Steam BBQ Buns... Rice...

Crispy pork was good even served to us cold...

Just wish Everything was hot and fresh...

Tried this place for the first time today, the buns are very reasonable priced. We got 6 of them for $13. The buns were full of flavor. They were delicious and very filling, definitely will be back to try more of the menu plus the duck. Only drawback is that restaurant is cash only/takeout only. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Customer service was excellent.

An absolute must try, BEST authentic Chinese bbq in Florida!! So fresh & packed with flavor! Haven’t had such amazing bbq since back home! Must try the duck, honey pork & crispy pork. Get there early as it is always packed and they do run out of food on extremely busy days. As a reminder they only except cash or Zelle

My first time here and was really surprised how good the roast duck was. I got there about 4 pm and ordered the duck and BBQ roast pork. Both were delicious, especially the duck. It was succulent, flavorful and slightly warm still. I supposed if I had ordered the fatty portion of the pork, (they give you a choice) it would've been succulent as well but I ordered the lean type which was still pretty good. They only accept cash or using Zelle pay. Close on Wednesday.

this place has always been my family's go-to spot for roast duck and pig! so yummy every time!

Now back to your regularly scheduled review: Best quality Asian BBQ you can get in South Florida. They also offer fried sweet sesame balls and a variety of other dim sum items. Nothing in Palm Beach matches Gou Lou Cheong!

Gou Lou Cheong Chinese BBQ, what I would call a culturally authentic Chinese restaurant. I have yet to see a place like this outside of Chinatown in NYC but here we are just off 441/SR7 in Lauderdalelakes in in the middle of Broward County enjoying some of the finest Chinese/Vietnamese food have ever had. I got the pork over rice and didn't regret it. Dumplings extraordinary! FYI cash only!

One of my favorite bbq restaurants in south Florida. Their food reminds me of NY’s Chinatown food which I always enjoyed being raised in Flushing. The prices are also affordable.

In a non-descript shopping center is the unofficisl "asia town" of Tamarac. Those in the know won't go to the north end of the shopping center with the asian crocery store, bakery, and restaurant. They will go to the south end where a simple sign that says "Chinese BBQ" is the only announcement of some of the best meats around. The honey roasted pork is phenomenal in its fatty juicy tender meat, and dipping it in the thick syrupy sauce elevates it to another level. The whole roasted duck is juicy and flavorful. Love this hidden gem!

Delicious!!! Very busy on Sunday, totally worth the wait. Bring a fork, smells so good you’ll want to eat in your car, we did.

This place is just AMAZINGGGGGGG! Crispy and roasted pork / Char siu siu yoke rice were so authentic !
And the bak zhang (savory pork dumplings was that closed to home ) I literally wanna cry when I tasted it ! Family owned and super friendly ! Cash only.

Wow this place so great, everytime i come here, is so nice, in the 441 a safe area near the silver pound, is great price, full chicken like 20 bucks, crispy pork a pound 10 bucks, the rice they have so good and the lotus wrap rice balls, wow great, you can have a meal here for 9 bucks have to eat out do, but is worth it, i always love coming here, and i think is cash only so make sure wipe out that paper. Pork so juicy.

This place has the best Chinese BBQ in S Florida that I have found. It's cash only but well worth the trip for duck, chicken, pork, ribs & homemade frozen dumplings. They sometimes sell out of items so get there early or call ahead.
