I love this bakery so much! They have an unbelievably huge variety of delicious pastries. While I was waiting in line once I counted, and from my count there were over two hundred different varieties of pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, tarts, breads, cupcakes, macaron, biscotti, nougat, etc! The pastries are very high quality French style patisserie, the filled croissants are some of the best I've had. They make extremely beautiful and surprisingly affordable cakes and tarts, including incredibly yummy looking holiday options you can order ahead. The most surprising thing to me is the price, most pastries are only $3.50, whereas a pastry of the same quality elsewhere in town is almost double that price. They have fast, friendly service.

I've tried probably twenty pastries from here, and the two of particular note are the chocolate croissant and pistachio croissant, which is like an almond croissant with pistachio paste inside. The filling is very flavorful, the pastry *extremely* crunchy (I get it toasted), and the sweetness just right. Their chocolate croissant is also by far and away the best I've had anywhere in Rockville, and I've had one from over two dozen gourmet bakeries in the area.

They do not offer coffee or espresso drinks, which would be a lovely addition, but they have very limited space, so it's probably not practical. I appreciate they don't serve coffee if they don't think they could serve good coffee. Maybe just a hot water tap with fancy tea bags would be nice though.

Very limited parking and floorspace inside the shop, so I recommend going during a less busy time of day. Plenty of parking around the corner. No cafe seating area or restroom, but there's a bench or two out front where you can sit on a nice day. It's a pretty quiet and nice place to sit. I would love if they could put even one tiny table with two chairs out front, but the space is very limited, so it may not be allowed by code. If code allowed, it would actually be cool if they converted the 3-4 parking spots into an outdoor seating area with tables with umbrellas, and did away with the parking there all together. I personally would walk from around the corner, then sit at a table outdoors to enjoy my pastry while it's still hot from the toaster oven.

I am pretty particular about my Italian food, but… they have the best tiramisu in DC. Way better than the Wholefoods ones.

Their apple tart is also awesome. Price is reasonable. Very happy shopping experience.

Finely, a taste of home in the States. Visiting DC from Belgium and wandering for fine tastes as we know. I felt at litle bit home for a moment with the Boston Creme croissant. Surely passing by again for some fine ´koffiekoeken´.

This is my favorite local place to pick up pastries, especially if we have visitors. The staff is usually very helpful. One occasion I think the young lady was new and a little shell shocked. The cinnamon roll was the only disappointment, It was pretty dry and tough. Otherwise everything else was perfect! There is always a full case with a huge variety of options. The huge bucket of buttery little waffle cookies are a great gift to bring if you’re headed to someone else’s house. They are so cute and easy to travel with.

Bought doughnuts from Potomac Sweets earlier today at the Rockville Farmers Market. My son and I had a couple of old fashioned donuts. Very tasty!

Also they clearly have a small business charm to them that is refreshing in 2023. Highly recommend and will be back

I have purchased several different items from Potomac Sweets and they were all great. Croissants, Cupcakes, cookies, cakes, specialty items all of it is just delicious. Whenever I have taken their items to events people always crowd me with where did I get them from? Can you give me the address and so on. Potomac Sweets is an amazing bakery and you can get just about anything you are looking to purchase including bread! I recommend Potomac Sweets highly!

Some of the best pastries and cupcakes I've ever had! Scones have a great flavor and texture. I got a chocolate marble cupcake and wow better than any of the cupcake stores I've had around. Moist cake and fudgey frosting. Prices were not bad for this area. Ive gone in the afternoons and things weren't stale. Small parking lot in front or street parking nearby.

Potomac Sweets has delicious assorted pastries. They catered for Teacher Appreciation Week at Wayside Elementary for our 4-day event and delivered pastries for 75 teachers and faculty. They loved the fresh baked goods and would highly recommend them! They delivered everything we asked for.

Stopped by this new, cute little place in Kensington, and I was quite impressed with the assortment—never knew there were so many varieties of chocolate chip cookies! The pistachio croissant was a real winner—buttery, sweet, flaky.

As it’s located in Antique Row, I could see that the building is a bit older, but the shop itself gave me a homely feel. Trying the red velvet cupcakes next.

My family and I have tried several pastries and they’ve all been super tasty and fresh. My favorite has been the pistachio croissant - the filling has a decadent pistachio flavor. We enjoyed a nice chat with the owner on our last visit. We’re so glad to have this fabulous pastry shop in our neighborhood!

Easily my favorite bakery in the area! There is a lot of variety for the baked goods and nothing is overly sweet and overwhelming, which lets the flavors of the pastries shine through. My favorites are any of the croisants, savory and sweet. I also love the strawberries and cream cakes and the dulce de leche cake when they are available and the delicious fruit tarts! If you are in the area and have a craving for something sweet and fresh, you owe it to yourself to visit this place.

What a great find in Kensington. Where else can you get over 5 delicious varieties of scratch made croissants? Not just the traditional butter croissant but also Almond, Mixed Berry, Chocolate and my favorite Pistachio. Hearth Baked Breads, Cookies, cupcakes and so much more. Chef Gerard really knows his craft.

Delicious breads (especially love their sourdough and pumpernickel), their scones and cookies. Authentic Belgian deliciousness, nothing else like it around here. So worth the trip to Kensington (or the Rockville Farmers Market on Saturday), two or three times a week. LIfe's too short not to treat yourself and your beloved ones.

I haven’t had any of the pastries but their onion rolls are next level. They have crispy onions on the outside and the inside has a ton of the onion and poppyseed mix you usually find on the top of a bialy. Soooooo good.

We got two danishes, the boston cream pastry, and a scone, and they were all delicious. The shop itself is warm and inviting as well. Much better than other bakeries in the area!

I purchased a pumpkin pie, blueberry pie and pumpkin bread, all outstanding! The blueberry pie was superb! The pumpkin bread moist and savory. I will return.
