This is the worst experience with a school that I have ever had. I have 4 children ranging from age 25 to 6. My daughter actually went there before the new principal and vice principal were there and it was great! My son started kindergarten there last year, 2017. Problems started immediately. I asked the teacher for a meeting (thinking the principal or vice would be there, since I was told they would be) they were TOO busy to attend. Then, my son gets SUSPENDED (by the vice principal, Mrs. Newkirk) for refusing to get on the bus. I find out that my son is being bullied by a student and being treated ugly by one of the teachers that walk him to the bus. Maybe that's why he's acting out?! I tried to change schools within the district and I got the assistant superintendent involved. Mr. Ford did nothing!! He denied the request!! Absolutely nothing but take the vice principals side.I'm not sure if they are related or just how they know each other, but it was very clear that I was getting no where in this situation. My son has been singled out the rest of the year. He threw up EVERY SINGLE DAY BEFORE SCHOOL!! In fact, I watched one of the teachers (NOT HIS) watch ONLY my son like a hawk at awards and got onto ONLY him several times. I will be contacting that teacher as well. I will say that his teachers have tried and been very helpful and great. The best that they could. It's the principal, vice principal, and assistant superintendent that have issues. If we were not moving out of state, there is NO WAY I would let my children attend an effingham district school after this experience.

Wow. All I can say is...wow.

I HATE this school. I was here my third grade year 2011-2012 for a few months, and I had the absolute WORST experience. The teachers didn't care, I didn't learn anything, and worst of all, I got verbally abused. Yes, that's right, abused. A-B-U-S-E-D. Although they didn't abuse me in front of my face (but to my mom's face), that's just...deplorable. And by doing so, they didn't follow my IEP...which is ILLEGAL. Seriously, my mom should've sued the school.

My daughter was the victim of a racially motivated act of violence resulting in her forehead being split open by a rock. All the admins tried to convince me it was purely a random accident but when my daughter being the loving soul she is, approached the boy who hit her to show him it was better, he stated he didn't care. He also proceeded to tell her that he did it because she was the wrong color. The school refuses to cooperate so I can give the ER Bill to the child's parents. Now the school admins are singling out my daughter on things like her polo shirt being too dark a shade of blue eventhough it was bought at uniform source in Rincon specifically for blandford elem with only 9 days left in this school year after wearing it nearly every day.
