Matthew Henson State Park

I visited this trail for an evening walk. It was amazing. The park is beautiful, beautiful trees and this tranquil brook running side by side with the trail
Many, oh so many deers, I was really close to them. The trail was very clean and well maintained. It was like being in a forest right but in the city.

Paved as well as raised walkways. An amazing trail to walk, run or bike. There are a ton of deer! It has great cloud coverage and a creek that runs alongside.

I adore this local trail. Perfect for strolls with the family, small kids in strollers, bikers & walking your dog. It stretches for miles into dc region if your running or biking for marathons. Lots of benches for breaks between miles. A picnic gazebo area and soccer field towards Georgia Ave side (unit 3).

Beautiful and verdant parkland that follows a single, paved trail into southern Silver Spring.

Is a beautiful place to walk, and enjoy nature, and has lots of wild life

Lovely and relaxing walk through the woods in the middle of the city. We see 8-20 deer and 4-5 pileated woodpeckers each time we come. Picnic area, plenty of parking, large field for sports or dogs to run. No restrooms or playground.

I love this trail, a good place to exercise your mind and body. My little one loves too

Lovely trail place. Screws my head on right in the mornings going up it and back for an hour!! Even lovelier (if you can believe that) when a favorite audio book plays as the sun rolls out of bed

Great food. Friendly staff. Spacious, comfortable dining area (not accessible during COVID).

Would be nice if the front lawn was sacrificed for a cut-through to exit the drive-thru to the other side of the building (when waiting on a large order, wanting to reenter the drive-thru, or wanting to exit on Rhode Island Ave., instead of Route 1).

Staff was very friendly, warm very inviting. A wonderful greeting. I had a suite very immaculate very modern. Exceptionally clean. No noise spotless. I would definitely recommend this Hotel I give it 5 stars. Thankyou to the wonderful gentleman at the front desk.😊😊😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

One of my favorite outdoor running trail. I can run anywhere from a mile to forever one way! I usually turn around at 4 miles ...'cause I gotta run back to the car y'all😁. You can bike and roller blade here too. Great, greatTrail!

I gave it a 5 star rating because of the type of park it is! They offer things for the entire family to enjoy! Kids, young adults, middle aged, elderly would enjoy this park. It's connected to Brookside Gardens as well. It has a play ground, cook out areas, a train and carasoul that everyone can ride! Brookside Gardens has a paved walking area around the lake. A huge gazebo over top of the lake. Then the dirt trails that go on forever. There are plenty of places to play with your dog in the open (please bring doggy bags to pickup your dogs waste) to throw frisbee etc.

This placed surprised me. It was VERY clean and a great place to walk with your dogs. Probably the cleanest walktrail I've been to. Dogs had great time. Definitely recommend!

A Beautiful trail with nice shade trees and wildlife is present always a pleasant site to see...Trail isn't crowded wide enough for dual traffic...Also emergency call boxes are along the trail....The trail near Connecticut Ave has awesome info on Mr Matthew Henson...with nice pictures and artifacts...I enjoy the trail...

Unlike any other trail I have walked. This winding, both paved/planked, path is well laid out and scenic. Both ends are great to walk

Great trail to run in. Pretty good condition and well maintained. Also not too many large crazy hills with steep grade and crazy turns.

Great place for a walk or bike ride. Wish there were tunnels or bridges to cross the major roads.

I miss this park, loved going with my daughter to walk and enjoy nature, very peaceful, would recommend to all!
