5 stars for 5 reasons

1. Nachos and bowl is so good! I got everything on it and it’s a lot! A lot going on but it’s so delicious! Lengua meat is extra but it’s so worth it. Soft and tender meat.

2. Unbeatable prices! Nachos under 10 dollars! This includes Lengua which is beef tongue!

3. Quantity is insane! Nachos alone made me super full with everything on it.

4. Fast service and no wait at all.

5. Nice folks and great service

Great portion size, definitely worth the price. We got a burrito bowl and one of each of the meat tacos, both with all the toppings. I would say my favorite taco was the Suadero (shredded beef rib), followed by the Steak and the Chorizo. The only one I didn't like that much was the Lengua (beef tongue), so for me it wasn't worth the $2 extra. They were very generous with the amount of toppings but it ended up causing a bit of overflow and was pretty messy to eat. We will definitely come back but will be more selective on the topping choices.

I wasn't expecting or requiring much service, but I felt the guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful. He let us know what everything was and what toppings they had. He also offered us bottles of the different salsas they had.

Happy to have been recommended this place, and can now recommend it to others.

Although the condiments bar has been removed since the pandemic, Taco Bar is still a great place to get tacos from!

The food here is great, and they give a large portion when compared to other similar places.

Their lingua (beef tongue) tacos are awesome because they are very tender.

Taco Bar's prices have recently spiked for all of their menu items, but i feel the price for lingua is exceptionally high.
($6 for 1 street lingua taco as of 2023)

I would also recommend their tortas! A whole order gives you 2 sandwiches!!!

The service is really quick and even though it's located at a gas station, the place has a nice charm to it.

The best taco places are the ones you don’t expect. Inside of a gas station/ liquor store, but still has seating inside and out. Great portions for the price! Staff was friendly, quick and efficient. Parking is tricky, especially when it’s busy, but it’s worth it! Definitely will be back again.

The most legit taco bar you’re gonna get in the greater DC area. Home- cooked feel and flavor, excellent portion sizes, fair pricing; it’s tucked in very easy to miss if you’re not looking it’s the second door on your left if you’re coming from behind (shell gas station).

Guys, listen. I’m a snob about my Mexican and my Italian food. It’s gotta be legit or I ain’t having it. That leaves very, very few places to go. This spot has been on point every SINGLE time I’ve gone since I discovered them 4 years ago. Granted, they had the full salsa bar (bring it baaaaack) but that was precovid. I honestly wasn’t sure they’d be here still (I mean not because they were unpopular- clearly a nearly impeccable rating supports this but because it’s been so long!) and I went this week (today was twice in 4 days) and can still confirm they are consistently the best for real mex tacos and specifically SOPES . Must try! Might I recommend you the chorizo one, no sour cream.

These bad boys have a fried masa cake (think thick corn tortilla) topped with the meat, lettuce, beans, Cotija cheese, and cream. 5$ each. The key to sopes is they GOTTA be fresh and the meat has to come through with flavor. They have yet to give me a subpar sope. Please show them some love

I've heard about this taco joint - and joint is definitely the way to describe it - for a while and was looking forward to experiencing it. This is the joint that started the taco cluster in Gaithersburg! It's a beer and wine store at a gas station with a taco counter. I know that sounds sketchy - and it is! That's part of the charm. Note that if you buy a beer there, you can't drink it on site - we learned that they apparently don't have that kind of liquor license. The 🌮 tacos were tasty and not insignificant. The ingredients tasted flavorful and fresh. They do have some decent outdoor tables that are not on the gas station side of joint. It's worth coming here on your taco tour of Gaithersburg 😋🌮

This place it’s not big, therefore, can’t accommodate many people but they do have a few tables in case you need a quick bite. HOWEVER, let me tell you the pros...They’re fast, even when they have a line, I’ve never waited longer than 15min. The food is DELICIOUS and portions are pretty decent!!! And their prices are very reasonable. Last but not least, you must try their 3 leches cake. ❤ I’m so happy I discovered this gem.

Food is great! I love their burritos, in a bowl or wrapped. Tried their tacos as well and they are okay. Price is affordable so it doesn’t hurt your budget much if you eat lunch here 3x a week.

The tacos were fresh, not greasy, and filling. The guacamole was bright and refreshing. Staff were kind and the service was quick.

So I came to this place last year and the food was really good! I thought that it might had changed this year but no, the food is still good! I like that they give you a big portion, I asked for a Torta el Guero and it was really good, it’s big, and it’s not too expensive. The place is located right beside the gas station, but they still have tables to eat. And one of my favorite parts is that you can see how they are making your food, that’s really nice, and the personal is kind too.

Don’t be fooled that this place is in a gas station liquor store. Excellent tacos, large menu, fair prices, and good portions.

You don't come here for the atmosphere- you come here for the food, which is out of this world, and has been for more than 15 years. Consistently amazing and very generous portions. I usually get al pastor tacos and pollo sopes but every protein here is amazingly tender & well-seasoned.

I decided to try it because of the reviews and I can confirm that everything is true, AMAZING TACOS, best tacos I have eaten in the area. I got Lengua, Steak and Al pastor and I loved all of them, the meat is flavorful and tender and you get TONS of it.
Probably what I like the most from this place is the fact that they have a topping bar for your tacos, you can put everything you want and as much you want. Definitely going back soon.

Best authentic Mexican food around, and I grew up in LA! Fast, friendly, and made to order. Prices are the best, even after the pandemic. Hours too, though they did close earlier than posted once. Outside seating is nice. Miss the salsa bar, but understand. Parking is easy in gas station lot. It's inside the liquor store part of the gas station. Go to the far left door.

Literally the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Cheap and great quality and taste. My favorite is beef tongue taco and chicken sandwich. Nachos are great too. Best nachos ever, and I don’t even like cheese.

Best location for take out if you’re looking for Authentic Mexican food. The bistec (grilled steak) tacos are always served with a generous portion of protein. The hot red salsa taste like real salsa, not the watered down tomato paste you find at generic restaurants. 10/10

if you're fine with eating at a gas station, the food is great and cheap. The steak was the only meat that wasn't the best but all in all, very good meal

Best tacos in Montgomery county. I’ve been coming here for for years. Their tacos are very tasty and fresh. Come hungry and be patient because this place is always packed. It’s a known hole in the wall taco joint, their tortas are amazing also. Very authentic Mexican food. My favorite tacos are the al pastor always with a cold hochata.

Food and service are excellent, it is small only a couple of tables - they mostly do carryout. Highly recommend.
