Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park

I had a very pleasant stroll through the park at about 230am during the snow fall we had. It might be one of the last snowfalls we get cuz of global warming so I'm glad I enjoyed it here. The fabricated outdoors area designated for play was a great place to reflect on what a world without winter will be like. Great equipment for climbing on, to stimulate what could be climbed in nature, without the danger.

There are 3 tennis courts and 4 pickett ball courts and small basketball courts and football courts. All counts are well maintained. The playground is nice. There are a lot of benches around the park. The restroom is clean. It's a lot of parking spaces

Nice park with well lit tennis courts and pickleball courts. Has a spacious parking lot too. Park's within walking distance of several shops and restaurants.

The pickleball scene in this park is quite busy in the mornings and evenings. They do a good job following the rules to allow for fair play and give people the opportunity to play.

One of my favorite playgrounds in the area. There is a section perfect for toddlers learning how to walk. Lots of slides and things to climb for older kids. Green space to play in the grass. Plenty of parking.

Great park! There is a small, toddler section with 2 slides, tunnels, and a play house. Larger section for older kids or kids who are more comfortable with larger slides. The larger section does have lots of open spots for ladders and whatnot, so not suitable if you don't think your kid is ready for that. 3 low-seated swings, handicap swing, and one baby swing. Playground area has soft flooring, rest has wood chips. Perfect for strollers or scooters with a paved path around the playground and throughout the park. Ping pong table, benches around the park, trees perfect for a picnic underneath, and also picnic tables with some grills. There are also tennis courts. A plus is the dog park across the parking lot!! Ample parking right nxt to the park. There is a porta potty nxt to the dog park but also plenty of bushes to hide behind 😉

Really great park. Has an open air ping pong table, and plenty of equipment for kids to play on along with several paths for everyone to walk on.

Love watching fireworks from Mattie Park! What a meaningful fourth of July happening at Mattie Park. It seamlessly aligns with the values of what Mattie believed in. Peace!

We have a great experience every time we’re at this park. We love to bring our dog, either just to walk the paths or go to the dog park, and regardless everyone is always very respectful and friendly, and the park is clean, well maintained, and feels safe. We have friends that use the pickle ball courts and always say they have a great time. There are lots of courts and spaces for all sorts of activities, such as basketball, pickle ball, tennis, football, soccer, a concessions building, dog parks, playgrounds, and wide open fields for games and picnics.

The play equipment here was fun for the kids and unique. There was plenty of space even with the other families there. I liked that there were different sections for different ages and that they were all well done.

This is also one of the rare parks that doesn't have wood chips the entire length. Much better for the little kids that way.

Nice big park. Surprised at where it is located because you can't hear any street traffic and it is so clean nice and neat. Didn't get to explore the entire park but will try to next visit.

Great Place!!
We've been wanting to go there for a while, but the weather hasn't been very good. Last week, there was an 80° day, and we were off. Lots of friendly dogs and people. No aggressive dogs. They all socialized. There was even fresh water available. Can't wait to go back.

Best place to relax and unwind. Very clean surrounding and a perfect place to bond with family. I'm a local real estate agent. I just discover this park after I sold a property to a client nearby. I really enjoyed it!

Beautiful park and accessible for all ages!

It's a very nice place..my kids play football there..it has basketball court ..it have a lot of parking..bring the kids out have fun..go for a walk..they have 2 fields..it's a very big place..with playgrounds and courts and fields..it's very pet friendly..see people walking there dogs all the time very time I'm there...so it's a very fun place to be...bring the family out and enjoy yourself..go and visit this place

A great little spot to walk the dog, not a lot of nut trees, not a lot for mine to eat! If you're a Rockville resident there's 2 dog runs, one for small dogs, one for larger ones...

I really like how this playground doesn't have all wood chips..less dirt..nice walk along the side while my daughter played

This Park is my favorite in the area, clean, friendly and beautiful landscape!

Very peaceful. Many different paths to take and explore. 6 tennis courts (3 single and 3 double) plus basket ball courts. There is a dog park for small and large dogs. Pet owners there seem friendly. Although the park attracts a lot of people it never feels crowded. Always space to do your own thing.
