Chef Tony's Fresh Seafood Restaurant

My wife and I came here Saturday evening dinner, and it was perfect! Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. We couldn't ask for anything else. Thank you so much for an excellent experience.

19July2023 Great anniversary dinner at Chef Tony’s spot in Pooks Hill(we’ve eaten at the Rockville spot a couple times when it was called Amalfi) and our waiter M(Ukrainian waiter)was so personable and attentive. He worked well between us and with the 2 other tables he had.

The parking is in the area of the condominium where the signs say,residents(in front of bldg’n). When you drive up to the gate (left gate barrier)the guard gives you a parking pass for being on the property and directions how to get to the restaurant. Excellent service at the guard shack.

This location is located inside The Promenade condo building. As you enter through the door labeled ARCADE and It is a mini maze to get to the restaurant, once inside the building; as it is to get to the bathrooms. Once in the restaurant, to the left is the bar and to the right is seating for the restaurant. This spot is not cozy like the Rockville spot. It is industrial/cafeteria like(Silver Diner). One of the wines we wanted wasn’t available and a dish that we wanted wasn’t available. So we picked another dish and different bottle of wine. Our bottle of wine was good. The food was delicious. Started off with appetizer size bread and oil. My oysters🦪 on the half shell 🐚 was perfectly chilled and was plated beautifully. My seafood 🦞 stew 🍲 was delicious except a couple of my grains of rice 🍚 were under cooked. The Sonia’s Vanilla cheesecake was wonderful (Walnut crunch crust, Strawberry 🍓 Malbec sauce).Overall service by M(Ukrainian waiter) was great. Due to our experience with M(Ukrainian waiter) and our food, we’ll visit again.

Ok so this place was a little gem 💎 that we were so happy to find! The oysters were amazing! And I had the best Creme Brul`e I've had yet! The only one negative for atmosphere was that it was a little difficult to park as this is located in an area with shared parking and part of some gated community so we waited about 20 min for someone to come out. This place should really come out of it's location it has so much potential for growth!

We order takeout from Chef Tony's at least twice a month, and it's always a highlight of our dining experiences. The menu variety is impressive, and whether we try something new or stick to our favorites, the quality and taste never disappoint. The baked oysters and lobster Mac & Cheese are standout dishes that we highly recommend—rich, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Don't miss out on the house salad, which is a fresh and delightful complement to any meal.

Pro-Tip: While Chef Tony's may be celebrated for its seafood, their deep-dish pizza and wings deserve their own spotlight. It might seem unexpected at a seafood venue, but trust me, the deep-dish pizza here competes with the best in the Bethesda neighborhood, boasting a perfect crust, succulent sauce, and fresh toppings. The wings are equally impressive, with just the right balance of crispiness and flavor.

In my opinion, Chef Tony's isn't just a restaurant; it's a local gem that consistently exceeds expectations.

This place is a hidden gem! I was pleasantly surprised by the food, the service, and the professional staff. The food was delicious, fresh, and well seasoned.

Do not let the location fool you, this was the BEST Italian meal I have had in a long time. The menu was uniquely curated, the seafood was fresh and well prepared and the pasta was perfect. Service was a bit slow during our visit, but it was busy and there appeared to be only two wait staff on duty. Our waitress was extremely pleasant to interact with. What a great meal!! I wish we lived closer! Regardless we will be back.

Jenn and Kendall took wonderful care of us tonight! Their knowledge of the menu and lovely personalities were the perfect pairing to the outstanding dishes that we were served. Highly recommend this unassuming little hidden gem of a restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

The salad was amazing. The calamari was perfectly done. My fish (trout) was seared and seasoned just right. My wife’s shrimp and crab dish was luscious. The fresh strawberry slices and vanilla beans in our crème brûlée made it nothing less than exquisite. This place is a truly hidden gem!

Amazing! The BEST calamari I've ever had and the crab soup had real crab with the most unique, delicious flavor. The dinner was just as fabulous. The salmon was perfectly cooked, garlic mashed potatoes were buttery, the snapper was beautiful! The only complaint is that I don't live here. This will be my first stop if I come back.

Went with a group of 6 friends. Had such great service, wonderful food and drinks, happy hour super discounts. Great experience. It was lobster night and was super delicious and very good value $$.

Unbeatable happy hour specials. Best seafood I’ve had on the east coast. The red snapper is amazing. The deserts are decadent, and even if yIhre just grabbing something light, they have an amazing reuben sandwich.

The brunch on Sunday’s is incredible. Try the spinach and shrimp angel hair frittata, and if you have room, get the French toast as a desert dish. The fresh whipped cream is perfect.

Their bartender Misha is great conversation, and takes his job very seriously. A true perfectionist.

What a wonderful experience! The servers worked as a team and were very friendly and accommodating. Loved that the bread was pre-cut, although I was dining with people that don't manhandle the bread.

My dining partners enjoyed their drinks and I did a well although I forgot the name of it. We had the crab of crab soup which was flavorful and creamy. The goat cheese with dried cranberries on top of spinach salad was was pre-dressed with an amazing dressing! Yummy!!

Our meals were a Red Snapper (whole) special, Halibut and a Seafood Stew, I believe. To savor the experience we all took some home. So delicious, even the 2nd day. Such great options to select from, so multiple visits are needed.

Chef Tony came around to say hi and chop it up with us a bit to make us feel welcomed. Will definitely visit again. A 2nd location is coming soon, so no better time. Check them out, you'll love it too!

Jennifer was incredibly charming and made the meal as special as it was. The food was simply outstanding, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never had a better seafood meal in my life.

I also noticed that the seafood in my medley was plenty full, fresh tasting. So many restaurants skimp when you order shrimp there are two on the plate that was not the case here and I had more than enough food and took some home.
I will so be back to this restaurant every time I visit Bethesda.

When you hear Marvin Gaye singing smoothly his voice is trying to express how amazing the food is here. Unreal. If this was my last meal I lived a full life …. Ask for Jennifer. You can’t go wrong

I had the Crab soup, it was good but had a little too much old bay seasoning. The filet mignon satay was delish! Grilled shrimp was also great! The fried calamari was crispy, fresh and melts in your mouth! I’d probably ad more breading, but that’s me. The crepe brûlée was good as well. The owners even sent me a follow up email the next day! What a great place in local Bethesda Maryland

Food is just amazing, if you are expecting fancy this is not your place but if you want quality real food with great service and atmosphere this is for you. Glad to see Chef Tony working there everyday and always taking care of his food, employees and patrons. The service is as good as their food. Prices for portion are excellent, 100% recommended.

Excellent food, prepared thoughtfully by Chef Tony. We were there to celebrate our 5th Marriage Anniversary, and every thing was super! The seafood is fresh & the preparations are delicately prepared to bring out all the wonderful flavors. Jumbo scallops were juicy and perfectly seared, and served if delicious garlic mashed potato. The jumbo shrimp and penne preparation in a very light sauce was (essentially) an explosion of flavor for our pallettes to experience. The portions were quite generous indeed.

There's a full bar, with a good selection of wines available,as well. The dessert choices are many, we selected the creme brulee`, which was perfectly caramalized!!

This small restaurant has a cozy romantic feel, with soft mood lighting and simple ambience. The location, in the heart of, Bethesda is great too. There's free parking in a small covered parking lot, exactly opposite the rest..

We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Tony in person. Long story short, I strongly recommend this restaurant, and is now added to the list if my favourites.

Chef Tony’s is one of my personal favorite seafood restaurants in the area. Chef Tony’s has an amazing 3-course menu option (Appetizer, Entree, Dessert). The food is very delicious with nice portions. The service is exceptional and very down-to-earth. The staff really care about their customers and continue to add personal connections to the guests experiences. The owner is also very nice and welcoming to new customers or reoccurring locals. The five times I’ve been to this restaurant, the food is exceedingly consistent and always tastes good. I would highly recommend coming to this place with anyone or everyone. Jennifer was a delightful and skilled server. The oysters (fresh) were among the best I’ve ever had. Simply outstanding freshwater trout with lemon caper sauce. Highly recommended.

Omg wow!!! This place was sooooooo good! Hostess was funny as hell! The atmosphere was like eating at a really expensive place, but the prices were spot on. The menu changes daily. And today's menu was delightful! The waitress' were hands off but attentive. They had the perfect balance. Also the chef can see you through his little window and he's a talker! Very fun! He cooks, turns out dishes, and chats you up at the same time. Food was the best I've had in a while. Absolutely loved this place!!! I recommend it to all!!!
