We had a wonderful visit to the Orvis-Swan Point Landing Fly Shop. This is a must stop if you love fly fishing and are passing through Rockport. Dave Hayward offered to adjust his regular day off to accommodate my vacation dates. We met at the fly shop to talk fly fishing and then the next morning he brought a few rods & reels to trial during our casting lesson. Casting lesson was two hours and covered a lifetime of information along w/ laughter throughout. We had scheduled fly fishing guide Trey Sparkman for Saturday morning and Dave afforded me the opportunity to borrow the rod and reel I was considering w/ no obligations. I returned Saturday afternoon to have Dave get me started w/ a new rod, reel and tackle…could not be happier! Dave is a gentleman and kindly shares his years of experience. I am honored to have crossed paths w/ him and look forward to future visits to the fly shop, casting lessons and guided fishing trips w/ Trey!

I came in thinking I knew what I wanted, so thankful for the knowledge, experience, and willingness to work with a newer saltwater fly fisherman - so thankful for this place. I leaned more in the past 20 minutes then I have in the past 30 years in fly fishing. Just wow.

Can't wait to hook a red on my new Orvis Helios.

Update: And nothing makes you happier the day after buying a new rod then landing a beautiful fighting 24-in on a terrible fishing day

Always the best, most knowledgeable and helpful info on equipment and current local fishing conditions. Dave is fantastic and the store selection is the best around! Would give 6 stars but Google only allows 5. Seriously stop by and see for yourself!

Great service and great shop. We walked in and were offered a cold drink while we shopped. We were given tips on fishing techniques and fishing spots and felt right at home. This is the kind of place and kind of service that makes you want to come back.

The only place to get fly fishing accessories and information. Dave is super helpful and knowledgeable.

Dave is the quintessential fly shop guy. Wealth of knowledge freely given...advice...and of he is on the vice you'll usually get a hand tied fly.

The staff is top! Friendly and knowledgeable in products and the local fisheries. They put is on lots of fish for the 4 days we were there! See you again soon.
