El-Especial

Stopped here and got lunch while working in the area and was pleasantly surprised. El Especial looks like a typical strip mall taco joint from the outside and for the most part it fits the bill. The inside however is clean and vibrantly decorated and just exudes a very pleasant vibe. Everyone raved about the food especially the chicken. I ordered steak quesadillas and the steak was kind of tough but it tasted good and the taco sauces were excellent. Also the food was very affordable.

Someone recommended this place and I'm glad they did. The food was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. I went alone the first time and it was so good that I took my family to eat there the next day and they loved it too. We had beef, chicken and ground turkey tacos/nachos. Good portions and clean establishment.

They have excellent food , the staff is very friendly, service is excellent . I had five medium shell tacos, with cheese , lettuce and tomatoes . My two sons , had three medium shell tacos , with cheese , lettuce and tomatoes , they were delicious .

Everything was awesome. Great rice and beans. Burritos were excellent with or without sauce. Fajitas were enough for two.....or my leftovers! A hit with the whole party!

Except fo the long line, the food was absolutely delicious. The chimichangas were very tasty, the tacos were so authentic. Finally the next day i warmed up the tamales. OMG. TDF, just awesome, and worth standing in line.

Amazing food, good prices, the food tastes very authentic, I highly recommend if you're looking a good plate of Mexican food 🌮

To me, this food is similar to what I used to get in Texas. Good food, good chips, nice atmosphere.

One of the best Mexican food. We are from Ohio and have tried many number of Mexican restaurants. On the way to upper peninsula of MI, we stop by this place for lunch. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants. The restaurant is located in a rundown place. Do not judge it by the cover. Try it!!! I tried egg, Chorizo and cheese breakfast burrito. Flavors are excellent. Burrito is just right!! My wife tried three types of tacos. Barbacoa taco is not excellent but the other two tacos (steak and lengua) were spot on. My daughter tried chicken enchiladas. Sauce was too sweet but the rest was perfect. Highly recommend this place. Place is very busy.

Excellent food! I love their barbacoa tacos. Very laid back restaurant. The kind of place you'd come with friends to get good food. Their prices are fair as well.

Shout out to everyone who left a positive review and convinced me to try. This was the best tacos I think I've had in Michigan. The nachos are sooo good as well. The Verde sauce is chef's kiss.
Perfectly seasoned. Tastes VERY authentic. I loved my meal so much. Fair price as well.
