This place is amazing .. food is so authentic, like grandma’s food , they have so good biscuits and gravy .. ppl are so nice .. Dona was who took care of me .. she is wonderful , I loved how friendly they are .. I would come back for sure

This is the closest thing you'll find to a home cooked meal. Small personal friendly family owned business, maybe a 3 minute drive from I74 and ST RD 9 exit in Shelbyville. Open at 4am and close at 6pm, Mon-Sat. Sunday open from 4am, closes at 2pm. Buffet and salad bar $10.25 salad bar $7.99. Both include homemade dessert bar. If you're looking for something fancy and luxurious, move on. If you're looking for good friendly down home service this is your place. Menu's are in photos

Buffet:
Monday is Soup beans and cornbread with home fried potatoes.
Tuesday's and Thursday's are cooks choice but always delicious.
Wednesdays and Sundays are fried chicken with all the fixings.
Friday is fried catfish and salmon patties.
Saturday is your all day breakfast bar.

You won't be sorry you stopped in.

I am frequently at this cafe especially on Sundays. They have a buffet that well small offers plenty of choices to have a delicious meal. Excellent fried chicken! The atmosphere is very friendly and accommodating. The place is clean. It is small so if it is crowded it's sometimes difficult to get a seat but if you're there on a non-rush time it is not a problem at all.

When you walk into a restaurant and they ask if you need menus I assume they have plenty of regulars who come in already knowing what they want. I also assume a place with that sort of customer base has to be a pretty good place to eat. The Chaparral Cafe proved me correct on both points. The service was super friendly and my breakfast was tasty. Get the biscuits and gravy.

It was my 1st time there...they had a buffet but I just went with the B&G fried taters and an egg! Next time I'll come in and know what to expect! Lol 😆

That kind of food at those prices the only bad thing is that they need a bigger place with bigger tables to put more food on LOL definite will be back owners were nice White staff was courteous and prompt

Excellent food, fast service, incredible prices, and friendly staff. Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids are for about $6 per person. Understand that it's a family owned diner and you're in for an affordable treat.

Cool little diner, was in town on business. Excellent choice. I had their stardust tenderloin at the waitresses suggestion. Super good as were the hand cut onion rings! Friendly staff nice atmosphere if im ever in the area will eat again!

Good food, made fresh and at very reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and very family like. The tenderloin was hand pounded and breaded after we ordered. They even left mine a little thicker as requested.

If you like home cooked food this is the place for you... To have a daily buffet which is very good.. fried Chicken on Wednesdays is excellent they also have fried Chicken on Sunday... If you like a good Hoosier giant tenderloin this is a place for you...
