Maine Heated Self Storage

Compared to other facilities in the area, Maine Heated Storage is by far the best value for space when even comparing with some non-climate controlled spaces. The inside is always at a comfortable temperature and clean. We also rent an outdoor space for our travel trailer and I've seen and used as expensive or more expensive lots in the area that are not paved. Having a paved lot really makes the difference when you're getting ready to park for the winter and when you're getting ready to head out for the summer.
Maine Heated Storage has been the best storage experience we've had and I really appreciate them.

I've been with this rental for about 4 years now now. The people are so nice and very understanding in hard situations when not being able to pay on the date of payment. All you have to do is call them and explain and follow up with your promise. Prices are great for what the units are. I feel very comfortable with this rental place. Thank you!

When my wife, a second grade teacher of 10+ years, took a temporary leave of absence from her job we suddenly had a lot of things to store (books, board games, boxes of magic markers/glue sticks/colored pencils, various laminated items, globes of the world, bean bag chairs and other furniture not suitable for adults, etc.) There’s not a lot of extra storage at our place, but luckily we were able to find Maine Heated Self Storage in Mechanic Falls. The manger was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, reasonably priced storage unit!

The facility was clean and the property well maintained. They send you a reminder email each month, so you never miss a payment. It was very easy to make the payment online. If your in need of a heated storage, I would recommend Maine Heated Storage in Mechanic Falls.

Beware of the new ownership or should I say answering service. I moved out of the facility on June16th and found that my belongings had been damaged by a water leak above my storage unit D07. Not sure how long ago the leak happened because no notification was sent by the owners. They were aware of the leak because a storage bin had been positioned above my unit to catch the water. I have place many calls to try and speak to the owners but only get an answering service. They only ask if I purchased the insurance and then say they will contact the owner who never calls. The only thing I found to happen fast is the late fee if you do not pay by the exact date of your monthly payment. I didn't purchase insurance, but I did rent a "climate controlled" storage unit. Part of the climate was to be dry.
I'm pretty sure I won't hear from the ownership, so be warned.
If you take a chance and store you belongings in the facility I would think twice about putting anything of value. Whatever it is may sit in a puddle for who knows how long and you won't be notified.

Had my belongings in a unit here for about a year while I relocated and found a house in Maine. Picked this facility because it boasted climate controlled spaces and has indoor units. I was storing a lot of household items, linens, my sons toys and mementos (pictures etc.). Around March I was moving some more things into the unit I opened the door and there was a huge puddle on the floor. I caked and was told that it was likely from the maintenances person tracking snow in on his boots after shoveling. Don’t know how’s this would result in a huge puddle in my unit underneath boxes but I was told that as soon as a unit opened in my size I would be notified. There were several other units open but all bigger they wouldn’t honor the price I was paying. The same thing happened further into the Spring and was offered no resolution other than to move by belongings into a larger, more expensive unit. There was one unit across from mine that looked about the same size that was vacant but I was told I couldn’t be move into it because it wasn’t filled with black mold. I was reassured by the owner that the insurance I paid for monthly with the cost of the unit would cover any damage to my belongings. I bought and moved into a house about a month ago and when I moved my things out of the unit there were stagnant puddles all the way to the back of the unit and cardboard boxes that were on the floor were falling apart as I picked them up. Blankets, other linens, etc. all smell of mildew, I had to either pay to have them laundered or throw them out. Lost several books of my sons he was given when he was born. Haven’t finished going through everything yet. I did reach out to the insurance company re: a claim to have the things I lost replaced and they don’t cover water damage unless it comes from above so nothing I lost will be replaced. The insurance I was forced to pay for the unit was a complete waste.
