We had an amazing experience at Thali of India! The Reshmi kebab was tender and perfectly spiced, and we loved that it didn't have any yogurt (a pleasant surprise!). Despite them being about to close, they welcomed us in and provided super-fast service. Highly recommend!

Stopped here on a road trip; the two places we tried first had waits but they were able to seat us immediately. Our waitress was lovely and skillfully managing the floor all by herself. The prices are really reasonable and the food is absolutely worth the price, and came out quickly. The biryani I ordered was warm amd flavorful, and the lamb was perfectly tender. No complaints!

Want to start off with this food was amazing. And the service was fantastic. I’m from out of state and wanted something different to taste the food. And they did not disappoint food was fantastic and amazing I felt like they told a story and like singing in my head. I really recommend.

Took my mom here for a birthday dinner. We got the non-vegetarian thali plate and a couple of our favorites we’ve had other places. Everything was delicious. Our server was incredibly friendly and took very good care of us. The garlic naan and the vegetable pakora were both of our favorites. Some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time.

The place was clean, service was perfect. Not too much assistance, but also frequent enough to keep my glass full.

The food, was absolutely amazing. They asked how spicy I wanted it, mild, and it was perfect. Great curry, garlic bread, and the lamb Makhani was delicious. I will return.

Food was great. I’ve never had authentic Indian food before so this was a first. I was enjoying every bit of it. If you are looking for something that’s “new and adventurous” I would not hesitate going. It was well worth it. The Crab Mumbai appetizer was stellar. I wish I could have made that the entire meal! For main dish I had the Seafood Makhani. It was a semi sweet tomato purée based food. So delicious.

I see a lot of complaints about the atmosphere. As a former business owner of 10+ years on Market Street. I can tell you it is not cheap to own or rent compared to other locations. Businesses have to make do with locations that were built 100+ years ago. Sometimes it’s a struggle. So while it may not be 5 star ambiance, it has its charm for what it is.

We weren't sure what to expect as this was our first time here. We ordered an appetizer and meals. It was clear that everything was made from scratch and authentic. The flavors were fabulous and the portions generous. We will definitely make Thali a regular dining experience.

Good food. Reasonable prices. Quick service. Friendly in a reserved manner. I wish they had music playing more often (I've only heard it twice in all the times I've been in there). Sauce bottles are often in need of a wipe down. Hours need to be updated as they don't close in the afternoon anymore.

Edit: The times I've been in since writing this the sauce bottles have been clean. 👍

Had a great experience here for dinner. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. They offered helpful suggestions, I wasn’t going to get a drink but they offered the chai and it ended up being delicious. The food was prepared very quickly and the portions were good size. We got one of the lamb dishes each and both were fantastic. The naan with chives and onion was great especially with the sauce from the entrees spread on. The prices for the entrees were somewhat high but the low cost of appetizers and drinks balanced it out to a very fair cost. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food.

Excellent. The samosas are huge and delicious. I had the vegetarian Thalia and my husband had the non veg. Both were very good. Quality and quantity were excellent. We lived in India so we know authentic Indian food. These flavors are the real thing. Not dumbed down for Americans.

Excellent food. We stopped by here on our way to Canada and were very pleasantly surprised! Everything we ordered was absolutely on point! From appetizers to chai at the end, each course hit the spot! Really nice and courteous staff as well. Plus, no wait, fast service, and reasonable pricing. Would definitely recommend this place if u are visiting corning and are in the mood for some really good Indian staple dishes. Hariyali Paneer and Vegetable and Palak Balti were the highlights for us!

Excellent food. Portions were good. Ended up spending slightly more than I expected but I don't regret it. Had the Meat dum Pasanda.

Ordered vegetarian thali on my first visit and it tasted decent. Ordered Vegetable Biryani for "To go" and drove all the way back to Bath, NY only to discover a badly spilled yogurt in the bag as the yogurt lid was secured with a duck-tape and a push-pin. (Not a big issue though)

Decent ambience, however, it was pretty cold inside the restaurant when I checked in (11:30 AM-Sunday, early February). I must have been too early. The staff have been very good and polite :).

3 stars on my first experience for the minor flaws and a little expensive Thali.

UPDATE: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
They've been very caring and friendly on every next visit! I've been treated extremely well and was even offered complimentary drinks. Have been here nearly 7 or 8 times during my temp. stay. Every visit proved worthy! Food tasted really good.

Very delicious food and not very expensive.
We stopped here for dinner while going to long drive to Toronto, felt like home light food and not burning spices hurting your stomach. Overall wonderful experience. Great place to go!

Thali is a lovely, family-run restaurant on Market Street in Corning. They serve authentic Indian food that is prepared in house. They are incredibly kind and attentive and the food is reasonably priced, even in this time of high inflation.
We often do take out, but have also eaten in several times.
We eat here at least monthly and would recommend it to anyone.
