One of the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen! Campsites are great, good space, great shadows for tents, love the fire pit made by stones. The restrooms are super clean, very good shower. Amazing view from the lake and great hiking trails. Plus it’s super close from the beach.

Went with my GF for our 4 yr anniversary! Worth the drive from Western CT, staff was extremely friendly upon our after-dark visit, and the store and amenities at the park were unmatched. As someone who has camped my whole life, I was puzzled as to how I had never been there before.

We stayed overnight in this beautiful and Huge campground, no water and electricity on the site but there are nearby public bathrooms.
There is a pond/beach where we enjoyed swimming.
Do not come before 1pm, they will not let you in.
Do not forget to register your pet.
Pre-checkin before coming to the site especially on the weekend.
Enjoy!

Been coming here since I was a kid (for over 20 years!) and now I bring my kids! We have our favorite site and can usually get it. The bathrooms and Sani cans were clean. Swimming in the lake was fun and the camp store was stocked. All in all, always a fun time!

Update:
If you'd like a site that is a bit more "secluded" there are quite a few. Ask the staff and check out the YouTube videos of the sites because they help see that.

Its a great campground for the area. Right near that big stretch of beach, bars, and the amusement park. And its on a pind where you can fish. Everyone who works there seems nice. Not all the bathrooms were open when I went so be advised.

Me and my two girls (7 and 4) really enjoyed our stay. The camp sites were a nice variety in seclusion or public. We were able to find private little corners to be by ourselves but go to the arcade to mix it up with other kids. I think I enjoyed the arcade more though :)

We stayed in one of the cabins which I really enjoyed. It was lockable and just the right size.

The staff was courteous and helpful. We will be coming back again next year.

It’s helpful if you bring bikes to get around the park. Some of the activities are a little far.

Only strange thing was you have to pay for the shower. In quarters. :(

This is one of the best state park campgrounds we have been to. You can find private sites and sites where you can get a group together. Bathrooms are clean, people are friendly. The beaches in the area are fun, and not overly crowded. We have been coming here for 7 years and it is one of the only campgrounds we repeatedly come back to. Love this place!

Clean beautiful great staff. Lots to do and enjoy. Over 700 campsites but we are told on summer weekends they turn people away. So reserve! no hookups and generators limited from 8 am to 8 PM. But there are water spigots scattered around if you can find a site nearby. Some are on the map others are not.

This side of the pond is soo much better than the campground side. Only a short walk over the rocks( maybe 7 feet or so) after that its sandy and theres even a few waves. The beach is decent. There are picnic tables, and cooking pits. And the best part is its completely free.

Great place to go camping. $14 dollars a night (as of 8/18/17). Can let the kids go off riding their bike without having to worry. The people weve met were nice and more friendly than other camp grounds we've been to. Been going here 6 years and plan to keep going another 30 years.

Great place to camp, Awesome maintenance staff! Lots to do here!

Unfortunately, the park manager discriminates against individuals with disabilities.
He refused the charging of personal mobility equipment batteries that is used for physical therapy.
He confiscated such equipment (which was later returned) and he stated that the use of electrical receptacles is considered to be a Fire Hazard and are not permitted for use by guests/campers within the State Park, unless it is for the purpose of utilizing a hair dryer.
GFCI receptacles are installed all across the park, yet the Park Manager, in all his Bias, insists that it is Theft of Electricity.

But overall, the park and the Maintenance Staff are outstanding and is a wonderful place to camp. Again, there is so many things to do and explore! Have fun!

Second year in a row going to this campground, and I have to say I love it. Very friendly, laid-back and helpful staff. Extremely pleasant environment, and clean. Not to mention only a couple of miles from the beach!

Wonderful place and now under new management. Better bathrooms and camp store are vastly improved. Camping trip was a success even if it was a little wet. Thank you all the hardworking folks.

The grounds were clean and not too full when we went. The location was good and there are just enough amenities, plus the covid restrictions didn't make camping any harder and we felt safer.
