WOW!! Been a lot of places but this is my favorite.
Love the sites and the location. Tons of hiking on this AFB. Easy to ride my bike and 2 miles to the gym!!
I would recommend this location to anyone who can visit.
Garden of the gods is nearby, and the Manitou incline is also really close both worth seeing while you’re here.
Laundry was a bit expensive at two dollars per wash and dry each. But the machine seem to be in good order and newish.

I have been to other USAF Fam Camps but this one is by far my favorite!
1. The campground has 2 sites which makes it better coz you don’t feel crowded.
2. In these sites they each have a bath house which is simply toilets, shower, and laundry facilities. Each bath house also has a quarter dispenser for your bills so you can use the washer and dryer. There is also 4 sets of washer & dryer in each bath house. If you forgot detergent or dryers sheets, they have a dispenser at each bath house as well. The Tide detergent was .75 cents.
3. It has lots of beautiful trees!
4. Another thing that I like about it is the dump station or sewer, as it is a bit sloped inward towards the ground (not sticking up and has no liners) so your sewer hose is positioned well so water would flow smoothly. To me that is important because I want to be able to really flush it all out LOL.
5. The spaces are very spacious, so it is easy to maneuver and you don’t have to worry about hitting trees, fixtures or other vehicles. Plus the spaces come with a picnic table.
6. It’s clean and well-maintained. In fact when we stayed there, I saw 2 campground staff maintaining the grounds - cutting weeds and such.
7. There is only 1 code to access the toilets (both male and female) as well as the laundry facilities. So no hassle memorizing different codes.

What I don’t like about this ram camp?
1. No late check in under any circumstances. This means you have to call ahead for a reservation OR arrive DURING office hours so you can check in. Otherwise, don’t even try.
2. When you call the office you will be directed to a voicemail message asking you to leave your name and other details so the office staff can call you back for a reservation. We did leave a message but we didn’t get a call back. When we got there during office hours the lady manning the front desk had a list of all the voicemails that she need to get back to. Good thing we drove there while the office is open. If we have just waited, we wouldn’t get a place for the night.
3. No WIFI at the camp. The map says that wifi is located at the bath houses; but that doesn’t make sense coz we don’t stay at the bath house. Good thing we have data. Signal is not that strong, but at least there is data.

NOTE: This camp is near a train track and you will surely hear it at night. In the morning, if you are sensitive to noise you may not be able to sleep in. The USAF has trainings so it may be a bit noisy… We were just not easily bothered by it so my husband and I’s experience were overall great!

I come here all the time! Great campsite! They have very clean bathrooms and excellent service. BE AWARE. there is railroad tracks right next to the campsite and if you don’t sleep very well it’s better of choosing a different place. Especially for people with tents. I’ve noticed that the place where you set your tents is the closet spaces next to the track. Very weird. But it’s great anyway and for the train track I go down and railfan and record trains that go by.

I slept through what everyone else’s reviews were saying. It’s clean, quiet and beautiful hiking! Yes, the world keeps going with planes, trains and automobiles around you. For the price this is wonderful, RV Parks in colorado are $100+ a night. This is a privilege to have access to this campsite. Thank you RV staff!

Beautiful, clean campground. Great staff! There is train noise at night but it did not prohibit me from wanting to go back!

Be aware: Peregrine Pines Famcamp requires RV registration papers, even for fifth wheels and travel trailers. They won't check you in without them, even if your state (like mine) doesn't require them to be in the vehicle.

Other than this surprise, this facility, like most military RV parks, is very nice. Sites are spaced generously and all sites have pine trees. The office is at the camp and check-in is like at any commercial RV park. No late check-in, so arrive before closing time. The only negative is that it is next to train tracks. Trains are frequent, even at night.

We were visiting our son and he was able to reserve a spot for us! Very nice campground, friendly “camping neighbors”….nice forest like setting! It even snowed a little for a day!
