Wow. I stayed here one night, 4/5/2022. What an experience. I went all the way to the lookout when I first ascended; not a single person in sight. I went back down to the first skyline campground and was amazed at the views. Unfortunately a strong wind storm took me and my tent out at 4:30AM, but besides the wind, I’ll be back. Clean, bathrooms, fire pits, and plenty of hiking.

Beautiful. We had so much fun. Waking up to mountain views is indescribable. A heard of wild horses walked right up to us. Can’t wait to go back!

there's nothing here! it's so great! just a lot of nature, and some very primitive camping. my friends and i had a sled of drinks chilling in snow as we cooked steaks and silver turtles. there are a few trails that we didn't bother with, but that was ok. the view was spectacular. really, all we used in the campsite was the fire pit that someone else had made, as we enjoyed the wonderful view from our spot.

An established campground for 17 tent campsites with no fees, picnic tables (for groups) and a small restroom. We didn’t get to camp it due to incoming rain but very nice scenic views. Unfortunately there were broken glass bottles everywhere - come on people.

My first camping experience in NM was up there. The views are amazing. Also, the Monjeau Lookout is quite close. You get amazing sunset views. The only downside is only one of the restrooms were open back then.

Drive VERY SLOWLY. The road is full of rocks and crevices from water erosion. Don't ride your brakes on the way down. Can be done carefully in a car w/o 4wdr. View is worth it! Good place for a picnic. I come here every time I can.

Super view! We saw deers in the morning the two days I stayed there. The stars in the night are super clear. Picture was taken at 5min where I was camping.

Killer view. The road up is narrow with some tight switchbacks at the top, I did it in a 2wd truck but don't look down haha ⛰

Wild horses, baby horned toad, deer, elk, incredible scenery!
The weather was fantastic on our drive to the top & back. Will definitely return.
PS
Please, pack it in, pack it out. If possible pick up after those before us, who lack respect for mother nature.

Amazing camping spot, restrooms are very clean and comes with a killer view. We hiked into the grounds and camped away from the normal spots and enjoyed ourselves. It was also free which is always a bonus. Falling asleep you hear elk calls and wake up to them with beautiful birds singing, minus one bird who would make calls all night, it was great.

Beautiful peaceful campground. You can hear owls, horses and elk. There are hike in spots for extra seclusion. The only thing that irks me is that despite the burn ban there were other campers starting campfires...please people don't burn until it's safe to do so.

Great view. Bathrooms on site. No water, but perfect for semi-primative camping. We passed by and some idiot camper left their campfire burning after vacating the area. We poured our own water on it. The rangers come buy every day and were advised it's a commy issue.

Amazing views. Heard elk bugling all night. Road is not difficult, saw a Toyota Corolla make it further up the road to the T25 trail head.

Campground provides excellent views if you're willing to make the drive up. Make sure you continue up the road and check out Monjeau lookout for even better views.

Loved it! Awesome scenery. It was windy, but if you setup your tent correctly, is no biggie.

Beautiful, peaceful and an absolutely amazing get away! The drive up is a little scary especially at night so be careful, but totally worth it!!
