My cousins adopted the sweetest boy ever Buddy. The lady that helped them with the adoption was great and showed so much love towards Buddy. I highly recommend ppl to go there to find their new pet.

This place is the best. When we moved here I started taking my daughter there to play with the kittens because she wanted one so badly but we weren't ready for one in the house. After 6 months of visiting once a week we decided to adopt a kitten to help with the mice in the farm house. (Definitely not because my two year old kept asking 😉) The adoption process was so easy. Since we live in Clarke county the easily affordable $25 adoption fee included a rabies shot and his neuter! Other adoptions we've done I the past were crazy expensive to just take the dog home and they were always sick. Not here. The workers take such great care of the animals. I actually ran into one of the ladies outside of the shelter and after a quick reminder we fell into easy chatter about the kitten. These workers are doing an awesome job! We highly suggest adopting from here.

I have gotten both of my cats from here and now about to adopt a dog! The staff is so nice and caring to all the animals and they ensure the best for each animal in their care. When I started thinking I was ready for a new fur baby I was able to visit multiple times. Always very clean and they truly love the animals they care for.

I personally thought that the facility was great. It was tidy and all the hamster and ginnie pigs cages were clean.

This agency recently posted misinformation about stray and feral cats. When others from credible rescues and TNVR organizations asked questions, their comments were hidden. If you have to hide the legitimate questions people have - you know you are in the wrong. Transparency and dialogue are important.
One simply asked what the CCHS was doing to assist in curbing the population - to which I see no answer.
No animal group that encourages neglect of animals, which leads to more populations dumped into shelters, should have 'humane' in their title.
It is also unprofessional to brush off the very entities that come from neighboring counties to address the problem in your area that you clearly promote ignoring.
