I see Dr. Lawrence for glaucoma issues made severe by having had preeclampsia. He is phenomenal! I saw 4 different glaucoma specialists in Charlottesville. 3 were UVa doctors (1 was hideous, but that’s a different post), and I couldn’t deal with a 30-minute time with the doctor tying up 6 hours of my day every time! The 4th was a bad fit, and didn’t properly explain things or answer my questions.
I happily drive to Waynesboro to see Dr. Lawrence! He is attentive, he explains things really well, he encourages and answers questions honestly, and he has a great personality! I am completely satisfied with the eye care and doctors I have at the present, and he is a key part of that.
And yes, EyeOne’s phone/phone staff situation could use some improvement, but no one has ever been rude to me. Then again, I am always super nice to them.

No problems here. Was sent to Eye One by the Veterans Administration. My technician was Debbie and she was super nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Saw Dr. Gillespie after Debbie was finished. My eyes were in great shape so I moved on. Everyone was professional, waiting room was clean and comfortable.

I love this place! Erica and the other girls working here today went completely out of their way to help me repair a discontinued frame of glasses I had bought there years ago. It was very easy to set up a new appointment while I waited for repair. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I dealt with Brenda and Kelly mostly. They were extremely pleasant and helpful to me. Will definitely be coming back in the future and I recommend Eyeone in Waynesboro to anyone with eyecare needs.

I thought my experience here was great and have suggested that co-workers go there for service.

The experience with the doctors and technicians have been great. The main reason for the 3 star rating is due to the phone etiquette and overall ability at the front desk. I called on Wednesday September 29, 2021 due to having to reschedule the appointment for Wednesday, October 13, 2021. The first attempt the person picked up, there was dead silence. The second time the person picked up and hung up. The third time, the lady was surly and rude and kept talking over me. I understand not liking your job, but I would suggest finding another one where phone etiquette and dealing with patients are not required. I am sure that it is the same one that has been nothing but rude to me whenever I go to the Waynesboro one, where the first appt she was whispering to another person there about me loud enough for me to hear her. If the Veterans’ Administration had not had to outsource my eye care due to the back up at the eye clinic at the VA., I would not be using these clinics based up the front desks’ attitudes. Sorry for being a veteran with eye issues, I guess? The scheduler that called back was polite and helpful.

Tried calling in for my glasses to be fixed, The phone rang for over a minute or more. Then when someone finally picked up, they did not say anything, just hung up on me. Called back, the phone rang for a few, and when pick up, the conversation was short and abrupt. Prefer the Verona location much better customer service.
When I got there I was meet by Kelly, she was very helpful and courteous. This is the only reason I bumped up you review - otherwise it would be a one

Didn’t even make it through scheduling my first eye exam with the Waynesboro EyeOne before encountering what I call an uninformed/disengaged/borderline rude employee. I went online to schedule an appointment. You are required to select why you want the appointment. I chose “eye exam”. There is also a section for comments. I stated that I hadn’t had an eye exam in a long time and was having eye discomfort that I needed to speak with a doctor about. The reply I got back was that if I was having eye problems, the only thing a doctor will do is tell me I need to be seen, they do not do anything over the phone. When I asked where in the appointment I stated I wanted to do anything over the phone, she pasted my comments and said “this is what you put in your request that you needed to talk to a doctor about”. Reminder…I had to select why I wanted the appointment, which was for an eye exam. I should have looked at the reviews first. They are very telling. Needless to say, I WON’T be going there for anything now or in the future. Doctors need to pay attention to who they select for their front line….

I had an appt for 2:45. I got there about 2:40. The front staff told me they were at least 30 minutes behind and I was welcome to wait in the lobby if I wanted too. I asked if there was other options (I already had to make awkward child care arrangements.) They told me if I wanted to leave and come back, that would be fine. They then said they would call me when it was time to come back. So I go to where my kids are, take care of them, and wait for the call. The second I got the call to come back, and they were ready for me, I left and headed back. They called at 3:27. At 3:38, I was about to pull into their office. They called me, and I answered to let them know I was pulling in (traffic at this time was pretty bad). They told me that they had already went to the 3:00 appt and I would have to go to the end of the line which was over an hour wait. They wouldn't even work me in behind the 3:00 appointment. I don't understand, if it was a problem with me leaving, they should have never told me it was okay. Now I wasted two trips and leaving my kids twice, all for nothing! Not everyone is doing well enough to waste their time and MONEY in this way. 🥺

I didnt have a good experience at this place. I was pretty much told I didn't need glasses when I know I do or I wouldn't have even made an appointment. They acted as if I wasted their time. They wasted my time. Let's not forget how long I waited to even be seen. I was there on time for my appointment and didn't even get put in a room for an hour. The tech was nice and professional, but other than that I will not be returning to this location.

Had an appointment scheduled for 2:30. Told to arrive by 2:15. Still waiting to see the doctor and it’s 4. At 3:15 they moved me and my two toddlers to an exam room. Would’ve rather waited in the waiting room. Horrible appointment scheduling. At this point it doesn’t even matter how the actual appointment goes if we ever get that far.

Took my 89 yo mother here for an exam. Exam was fine, but while they will print out the prescription, they will not take pupilary distance - that can only be done at the optical center in the building. The optical center will not do it unless you are purchasing glasses from them. So they charged my mother $30 to take the measurement so that I can order her glasses online. The elderly have enough problems on a fixed income without this kind of extortion.
