A great place in the middle of no where. The road in is a little rough but no biggie. 2 really nice waterfalls within a short walk. Pretty clean Porta potties . A nice creek too. You really don't need to leave once you get there.

Didn't camp but went there to see Horse Trough Falls. 5 mile windy road isn't too bad. Falls are awesome. Only one couple there who was from Georgia at the same time as me. They always make the stop here.

Campground was closed until March for the season. But if you get a chance it's worth going to Horse Trough Falls regardless. Especially after a rain...and the Campground being closed was a treat ....absolutely no one there.

Nice getaway - you’re really way out in the forest out here. 30min of narrow gravel bumpy road, it’s true any car can manage to get down but it’s nerve wrecking 10mph and seems like forever. No cell signal when you’re out here. Be sure to come prepared camping since it’s such a long ways in and out. Campgrounds were nice, there’s a river or creek running along the campground, nice to sleep to. Portapotties available, bathrooms are locked (they’re not full size real bathrooms anyway). Be prepared to be one with nature.

Stargazing is nice here - if you have a view between the trees, the stars are very bright and plentiful.

Didn’t see much wildlife on this trip but could hear the birds. Pretty waterfall within walking distance. Be mindful of ticks, wear long pants and sleeves and inspect yourself before getting in tent or going home. I found a lone star tick on my shirt when I got home and may have been from wandering through the grass and wilderness out here.

Beautiful area and if you like white water rafting or kayaking……this is the place to go.
We just sat on the rocks and walked out on the bridge.
It was very peaceful and not too crowded.

Do not need 4x4 but you do need a higher clearance than sedan. CUV, SUV, truck, will do just fine. There are a few muddy spots but you can get through them. Also there is one spot that is washed out and you need to get some speed before going through but otherwise good

It's off the beaten path. Lots of creeks, primitive camping and lots of wildlife . Nature all nestled back deep in the woods. Quiet , peaceful and relaxing.

Great place to experience nature. We always go on the weekdays when no one is around. Met a park ranger, he was super nice and informative. He really liked his job.otd of birds out and the weather was wonderful. Highly recommend a visit.

A great place to go camping with the family very peaceful got the chance to see my first bear in the wild on a hike down the dirt road. So there are definitely bears out there and owls and we also heard some wolves but didn't see any the worst thing about this place is the extremely messed up dirt road leading to the camp sites wouldn't recommend using a car but overall wonderful experience

Decent backwoods camping, very easy for car camping within the Chattahoochee WMA, headwaters of the Chattahoochee River. Bring cash or check to pay for sites, fee is going up soon, currently it is $12, but worth the cost. Sites were relatively large, not all of them are creek side. There were probably 3 other campers when I visited. Streams have trout in them so make sure to have a trout stamp on your fishing license. Cars and trucks should have AWD or 4WD. Bathrooms were under maintenance, but Port-a-Potties were available and had been cleaned recently.

Anywhere in North Georgia is beautiful. I just wish people pick up their garbage after they're done camping. As they say U-Pack it in U-Pack it out because this is not your mother and father's house and they are not here to pick it up please keep that in mind. Just a friendly reminder from a concerned citizen. Thank you✌☺♻🚮✔💯 oh yeah and it's always nice to think about the campers that might be up there after you. Because believe it or not you are out in the wilderness and in the woods there are people still 👀watching👀 just to let you know wouldn't want nobody to get the ticket for littering because of something they could have done different just saying. Let's all respect mother nature and she will respect us God bless.

The road in is a bit over the top but any vehicle can get in there. If you like forest service campground camping this is a nice spot. It has a nice waterfall about 300 yards behind the campground. The camp host usually has firewood and the river is stocked with trout on a weekly basis in the summer. Seldom full due to road coming in. I am not sure why this is labeled as Blairsville as it is very close to Helen GA.

Easy to get to if you go up the highway and turn left onto dirt road and go 5 miles down to the upper Campground. If you make it to that big pull off on right for the Appalachian Trail you went too far, by about 200 feet

Great ride to it! The campsites are closed and abandoned. Short walk like a half mile to horse trough falls! Very beautiful area. Must go!

A perfect place to relax and enjoy trout fishing all day! The best time to fish is on the weekdays!

Camping on the weekends? It's a good idea to show up on Thursday to you can claim a campsite before the campsites are all taken.
