If you are a wanderer, you'll already know that there are places that you'll visit along the way that will enchant you for reasons that might not be immediately obvious; there are people you will meet there who will see you, accept you (even if you're riding an adventure motorcycle) and make you feel like you will always belong there. For me, Appalachian Campground was one of those places, made all-the-more so by the hostess who was quick with a smile, quick with a well travelled story, and thick with southern hospitality.

Crisp November air, a babbling brook, a crackling fire, and taut hammock lines made for a great night in the mountains: I "belonged" there. You will too!

I love this place its amazing. Laundry on site and 3$ to wash an dry a load isn't bad. Bath house was clean and had nice hot water. Host was friendly and helpful. Cabins are beautiful I stayed in the one with out kitchen and slept like a baby. Prices are great to. But Verizon no service but they offer wifi. I plan on staying again!!! I already stayed 2 different times. Couldn't get enough of the river noise right behind my cabin so relaxing

I was only stopping by however the person in charge Courtney appeared to be a very nice person! She had many campers stop to chat with her! Plus it seemed like rates were reasonable to the area, great creek views, & accommodations!

Thanks for the break week. Stayed in the Hemlock cabin this past week. Really nice place and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location between Hiawassee and Helen. The cabin faces the creek and it was great hearing the water rushing by as you sit on the porch. If you are planning to have kids sleep in the loft, I recommend bringing sleeping bags or padding along with bedding to add to their comfort.

Great Campground. We have been here since July. Camp host is GREAT. She makes everyone feel at home. Love the creek. Already made our reservations for next year. Clean bathhouse and there is a washer and dryer avaiable. Close to Hiawassee and Brass Town Bald.

Excellent place and very tranquil. Cabin was amazing. Will definitely put it in my journal as a go to place when in the area again.

Great weekend camping trip close to home in Buford but far enough to be relaxing! Loved being next to the river listening to the sounds of the water. Great camp host Jeff and Kim!! Very clean bath house. Will definitely be back again!!

This is a very small campground and perfect for our little family! We weren't looking for anything big and extravagant. We were able to stay in the Hemlock Cabin plus tent camp right next to it. The water is great during the summer months. The kids enjoyed it all.

We loved this campground. The campground hosts Jeff and Kim are incredibly nice people. They were so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I don’t camp terribly often, but It was very convenient for us tent campers with fire pits made and firewood on site in abundance. Jeff even offered us fire starters and lent us his wine opener as we forgot ours! We fell asleep to the sound of the babbling brook next to our tent and happy fellow campers at their campfire nearby. It was a wonderful experience. I was camping with my fellow female cousin , and as two women venturing alone in the Appalachian mountains I am pleased to report we felt very safe here.

Really enjoyed this campground! The creek runs behind every site and there is a huge field to play in which we did with our dog and 3 year old! Also, loved the apple tree! But I think what was most enjoyable was how nice the host, Harry and his wife were! They were great to talk to and made sure every need was met! Definitely will be coming back!

Loved it, babbling creek right behind our campsite, the sound incredible. Not so good for big rigs but perfect for smaller and truck camper (ours) electric/water and sewer connections at each site. Could use some updates at each site but bathrooms/showers very clean. Our hosts Kim Terry and Jeff could not have been better! (p.s. Kim Terry is a very talented literary contributor, don't forget to ask!)

This was a great place. The management were amazing. The creek that ran down behind our camper was so relaxing and that's how we kept out wine nice and cold. We built a lil bed with the rocks and just let the water flow keep it nice and cold. I will be back here. Really inexpensive.

We loved it. Quiet little campground. The staff were wonderful and would take care of anything you may need. Cell phone service is not good at all. Exactly how we wanted it, quiet with nobody to bother us. We will definitely go back and visit Miss Debbie and crew.

Cannot day enough about this little slice of heaven 20 min from Helen. This is a campground that has RV hookups, tent camping and two cabins. The shower/bathroom facility is spotless, the camp host is kind and the place is clean all around. We rented one of two cabins for the weekend (the one with shower and loft) for less than 100$ a night. All sites sit on a fast moving section of the Hiawassee River and the ambient sounds can calm the craziest of minds. Each site has a fire pit and the cabins both have porches as well. Here are some pics from our weekend away

Had a great time with my boy on Father's day weekend here. Trip was cut short a bit by an incoming tropical storm, but we had a blast for the few days we were there. Not much to do in camp, unless your kids like to splash around a small stream; but, it's perfectly situated close to Helen, Hiawasee, Lake Chatuge, Unicoi State Park, etc etc. Will be back!

Good location, peaceful area, good for bringing in tents or campers of any size. Has 2 cabins for rent along a small stream. And has a bathroom with showers, and location to put trash at when you leave. Campground is right near the Hiawassee River and other trout fishing locations just down the road.
