Boondocks Restaurant

Saw this restaurant on the way back from Ponce Inlet and checked out the menu online. Not to be disappointed, the food lived up to the listings. We loved the two chowders - traditional New England Clam and tomato-based Nassau. Both were rich and filled with seafood and were basically meals in themselves. The shrimp tacos were packed and the sauce was decadent. The tuna melt had delicious barely seared ahi tuna with rich provolone. Fish, seagulls and the neighborhood egret stopped by the dock for scraps tossed into the water without interfering with dining. The Island Rum Runner made with two rums and blackberry liquore was refreshing. Our server, Misty, knew the menu inside and out and was very attentive. Other staff were also attentive. We opted to take our key lime pie to go. No room! We went late afternoon hearing that it is very popular in the evening.

I wish that I could give service and atmosphere even more stars! Food was outstanding as well, but what really sets this place apart is the people. Our waitress went above and beyond, even telling the kids about feeding the fish after (us big kids may have enjoyed that part even more than the little ones!) We can't wait to go back!!

Been a favorite of mine for literally years. I was actually able to get crab legs today! Worth a trip to a quaint place. It's on a dock. Never had a problem here ♥. Oh, it's outside dining only. It's usually breezy and they have fans on the ceiling.

Not only is the most beautiful view available here but the food is amazing and the drinks are amazing and you're definitely getting good service because everybody works together here to ensure that each customer gets treated right. It was a very clean restaurant with some locals popping in to say hello like the big bird I was able to take a picture of that stopped and stopped by my table and just hung out.... Or the pools of catfish going crazy over crumbs. What an amazing afternoon I will definitely be back.

The hidden gem is a must go to place. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is like no other place.
The fish dip was good but the bread was really good for starters.
The oysters were huge and so was the price of them.
The shrimp was delicious fried or boiled, it didn’t matter. The red snapper did not disappoint.

Let’s start with the view. Absolutely beautiful at sunset. The food and service go hand in hand. We were greeted and seated like the severs had known us for years. So welcoming and kind. The food was delicious. The portions for the price are great. I had to take some of my fried shrimp and fish to go. I’d say this is a great place to go with friends and family!

Absolutely great place to eat. Their fish Rubin is fantastic... They also have great homemade Cole slaw. The view is great too, of the water.

Never have we New Yorkers been to a restaurant where the staff worked so impeccably perfectly together!! You all are a well oiled machine. Applause goes to each of you for your friendliness and efficiency from the host to each server and the bus boy.
To top it off the food was delicious. I had the tuna steak melt YUM says it all. Others had the very fresh crab legs, fish sandwiches. Definitely ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Boondocks is off the beaten path, outdoor casual dining right on the water. Very Cool 😎 seaside shanty and tiki-bar atmosphere. Super attentive and friendly staff, everyone helps each other. Super tasty selection of homemade seafood and other fare. There actually is a nice wraparound tiki-bar with a fine selection of drinks and usually a daily special.

Sit and look out at the serene water while you dine and drink. There are hundreds of hungry catfish right at the deck. You're encouraged to give any scraps to them and watch them devour it all! Amazing to see and watch! My family loves this place 💕

The gold standard for Florida casual waterfront dining! This is the place to enjoy a cold drink or meal with friends while soaking up the old Florida atmosphere. Conveniently located just a few miles south of the big bridge and tucked along the river in a residential area. It’s directly on a popular safe harbor marina with a good amount of boat traffic. There’s an equal amount of water foul to watch as there are boats. The menus has the usual fish camp offerings and they have a wide variety of beer to chose from including some local craft suds. All competitively priced. The folks working there are super friendly and professional. I think some have been employed here for 10 plus years! It’s just a great outdoor waterfront dining experience!

The Boondocks is a brilliant restaurant. I loved it. The wait staff was incredibly kind, probably some of the nicest I've ever encountered. The food itself was very delicious and I highly recommend their garlic bread! The atmosphere was great and as you can see it was really fun watching the birds wander around. After you finish eating you can throw any leftover food into the ocean and watch the fish gobble it up. It's a fun and unique experience. Check out the Boondocks!

Such a great find! We stumbled upon while driving through on vacation, and absolutely loved it! Our waiter (name escaping me!) was incredible, and when the blender broke making my daughter a frozen drink, he surprised her a bit later after fixing it, which but a HUGE smile on her face! Such a welcoming atmosphere, everything was great! Will definitely make it a point to go back next time we are in Florida!

Went with family and we all had a great meal, and a great time. Friendly fast service. I think we all had fish, many different types to choose from. They always have a fish of the day, today was trigger fish. We had it two ways, blackened and fried...both were tasty choices. Fried platter also had a lot on it, plenty for 2 people to share.
The kids were amazed by the catfish in the marina. SO MANY!! Although there are signs asking not to feed them, they are clearly drawn to the edge of this restaurant for a reason. Staff was amazing dealing with our swarm of children running about. We had an absolute blast here. Love you all. We'll always be back!!

Its a little dive of a place with great food (Mahi tacos and sandwich were excellent- a little spicy blackened the way we like it). Friendly and efficient service and a great views feom every seat.

When you find a place that treats you like family even on the first visit, you know you are in the right place. The grouper fingers basket from their specials board was amazing. The coleslaw is delicious and the homemade tartar sauce and red sauce are delish. The fish was perfectly done and flavorful. It was fun to feed the catfish and to watch the resident bird decide to come fishing. This place has a great relaxed vibe and the wait staff is fun and friendly. The cherry on top is that the prices are so much better than the other places we've been to in the area. One added bonus to us was that there were prices on everything including the drinks so you don't have to guess. And they made our special request drink perfect! All around my favorite spot so far and we will be back!

Been here a couple times on vacation. The staff are nice and attentive. The restaurant is fun and the cat fish are always amusing. Drinks are yummy. The food is delicious every time. Ice ordered a variety of things and have enjoyed all of them. Recently we tried the stuffed mushroom and it was one of the best things I've ever had. The cheesy garlic sauce was amazingly delicious and I wanted to just get a side of it to go home!

It is Always Fun to sit by the water and have a meal. The view here is Breathtaking. I could tell You Dusty is an Awesome Server. The thing that makes them shine is the teamwork. Trisha has a Great Crew of Servers. They are All Happy to Help You no matter who Your Server is. The Atmosphere is Very Light. Outdoor seating is available. This is a very popular area for the locals especially around Ponce Inlet. Place is always crowded, with a lot of sights to look around the marina, wait for the sun to set, or feed the catfish, or to order at the bar while waiting for your table. There is a wide parking space, wheelchair accessible, it is kid friendly, it's a family gathering place.
Over the years we noticed that their menu has significantly change. I will personally rate the food 3 out of 5 stars, but will still come back!

Great food, friendly atmosphere. Not much more to say all the staff are extremely friendly and the food is excellent in every way. Will Co tinge to go here for my seafood cravings. They also have food for those who don't like seafood. Also, the key lime pie is amazing, one of the best I've ever had!!!

We always make time for a visit to Boondocks when we travel to Daytona Beach. A long time favorite for us is the spicy Conch Soup. A new favorite after this visit is the Buffalo Shrimp !
An extra Huge shout-out beyond the food, was the customer service ! They were slammed and while we did have to wait nearly an hour, we received fantastic attentive service one we were seated and received our beverages nearly instantly and our appetizer and food in excellent timing after ordering. The staff worked as an amazing well gelled team and were wonderfully attentive until we received everything we needed and then let us enjoy our food, while always being nearby if we needed anything.
The atmosphere is cozy, with tables fairly close together, although balanced with open air and a fresh breeze blowing off the water.
One small challenge was their being so packed, I'm guessing for an extended period before we arrived, is they ran out of real silverware and my husband had to eat his fresh salad with a plastic fork and knife. But it was a minor thing and didn't hugely affect our overall delightful experience.
