Forgot to mention, servers were so great and helpful! .... Well, I've been living here for almost 20 years now and this place has always been there. My wife and dang near all her family worked for a stretch at some point. We used to eat here quite often but since my wife lost her lunch from eating there several years ago we've always been eager to stay away. We had a family reunion of sorts there last year and this and the food was better. I had the fried clams with fried pickles and the salad bar. It was very fresh and very good. The fried pickles had a weird flavor. Must've been the batter. Still have a fear of going there though because my wife got so sick years ago. So eat at your own risk. Salad bar is great though!

The food & service was very good. We were able to walk right in on a Saturday early evening with a party of 7! Food came out fast, there's a complimentary salad & soup bar. Food was fresh & delicious 😋. We will be 🔙 again !

Great place if you go away hungry your fault. I had flounder and my girl had blackened red fish. You also get soup and salad bar the shrimp chowder was awesome. Will definitely be going back to try other things. Waitress was great and polite.

This place food is so good from the salad bar which is fresh vegetables and different types of dressings to the seafood Alfredo soup which is so good. and they give you plenty to eat and the prices are on point. The food between comfort and a good entree and my server Lilly was so nice and pleasant and made sure I was satisfied with the service..I definitely recommend this place for a visit you will not be disappointed.

We stopped here on our way back to Kentucky from St Augustine FL as we were craving some seafood and this happened to be nearby. Where should I start? The staff were very polite! They had a salad bar where you could also get some free cheddar bay biscuits and some soup. I didnt try the salad (but my parents said it was great). But the biscuits and the clam chowder are to die for! Really delicious. For the main course, I got some fried mac and cheese, sweet potato and some friend flounder as well as hushpuppies. Ngl, the mac and cheese was a bit cold in the center but it wasnt so much of a big deal that I’d dock a star. I also didnt think I’d like it but after eating it for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Fish tasted great. Everything tasted good! Highly recommend stopping here!

Worth the short detour off of I95 (US17 parallels I95, so it is a refreshing break from the traffic, anyway.) Friendly customer service. Very attentive and accommodating. Wonderful home cooking for sure! Soup and salad bar is a plus. We have stopped here on several trips.

My family has been coming here since the 60s. The food and service are always great. We're treated like family regardless of how often we can make it. Great seafood and impossible to beat anywhere around this area.

I've been eating here for most of my life. Back when it was known as The Cherokee. A few years ago the quality of the food went down a lil bit, but they have redeemed themselves. There's a great salad and soup bar. The customer service is ALWAYS on point. The hostesses are very friendly and helpful.

Your standard CJ restaurant. Only had Soup & Salad on this visit. It was very good. My only suggestion, it would be nice if they'd add Spinach Leafs to the bar. I'd prefer them over the lettuce.

Collards were the best I've ever had, it's hard to make collards that aren't bitter, these had great flavor!! The home made potato soup was delicious. The fish tacos were cooked perfect and well seasoned. Inside is clean and welcoming the staff is so friendly! Glad we stopped here on our way by.

My favorite seafood place in the Savannah, GA area. Love the grilled shrimp and deviled crab. Also all you can eat salad bar included.

Don't pass Captain Joe's Seafood restaurant up! The food is awesome! I ordered the snow crab with a baked potato as a side. The entree came with unlimited salad bar and soup. The salad bar has a LOT to choose from! There's fresh fruit and desserts, OMG! There were two types of soup -- chicken stew and crab chowder. Both were excellent! The cheese biscuits were so good!

I just had to order the fried green tomatoes. I'm a southern old woman who knows her fried green tomatoes and let me tell ya', I heartily approve of theirs! Crunchy on the outside, crisp green tomato on the inside. (Ain't nothin' worse than a soggy fried green tomato!) Ranch dipping sauce was great.

The waitress was very pleasant. The price I paid for three clusters of snow crab, plus fried green tomatoes and more extra food than I could possibly eat, was a good deal -- $32. Eat at Captain Joe's. You won't regret it!

I'll be honest with you - I tried eating here 6 years ago and after 10 minutes of siting at the booth without anyone giving us a menu or taking our drink order ( and this was after the lunch rush - the place was empty!), me and my friend got up and left. It has taken me that 6 years and another friend telling me about the salad bar to give this place another chance. I am so pleasantly surprised. The wait staff here now are so prompt and friendly. The salad bar is very nice and I love that they had such a nice selection of fruit. The flounder was good, and the baked potato was big and perfectly cooked. I will be back ❤

We had a wonderful experience here! The food was delicious. The cheddar biscuits were so good, as was the fried shrimp. And the collard greens were the best I've ever had. I met the lady that cooked them and she was delightful. I ate there with 20 of my family members and we ate in a large room, so I don't really recall what the atmosphere of the main restaurant was, but we had a great time and my entire family was pleased with their food. Service was great!

I must say I was highly impressed with Capt. Joe's. It had been many years since I had been there since I moved away from the area. I recently moved back and had wanted to go and try them to see if they were the same as I remember. I had been going there since I was a child. I remember the great food they had and always loved going there after church on Sundays. When we walked in, we were greeted by the nicest woman who was also our waitress. I should have gotten her name but unfortunately, I didn't. She was so pleasant and friendly and very attentive. Our food was outstanding! The salad bar was clean and food was fresh. It was fully stocked. And just for a bonus, the women's restroom was clean! You don't find too many clean restrooms in restaurants these days. Thank you Capt. Joe's for such a wonderful experience for me and my family! Your food is even better than I remember!

This place is pretty good! I came in ton to Midway from Atlanta to visit family, and decided to check this place out for lunch. They’re so nice! It had a vibe like you’re stopping by at a relatives house to grab a plate. The flounder and fries were delicious, and you can tell they were cooked with fresh oil. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.
