The Wood Yard

Very cool place tucked in Concord, GA, just outside of Zebulon. Lots of exotic, expensive types of wood, as well as very reasonably priced domestic types. Friendly, helpful, and quite knowledgeable employees. This is our second visit and we'll definitely be back!

Great selection and knowledge of species. I saw a couple of slabs in other reviewers' pictures that I have since bought and turned into furniture. The pine slab and walnut behind it is now a kitchen table and chairs in my cabin in Blue Ridge, and the big cedar slab is a mid century style dining table.

I was looking for a wood slab that I could use to build a desk. After a very helpful and informative call, I made the drive from Atlanta and found exactly what I was looking for! I ended up with a beautiful piece of cedar, with swirls like Jupiter. The staff here is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Whenever I'm ready for another woodworking project, I'll definitely be back!

Good selection of a variety of wood. Staff was just an awesome group of guys. The only bad thing is it’s not closer to where I live.

Great place for hardwood. These guys are great. Prices are lower, and customer service is leaps beyond the big box stores. Worth the drive.

I wanted to add to my review. The new ownership is excellent and you can easily determine costs either way the multiple price listings posted all over.
The wood as always is just excellent. I just uploaded photos of a mandolin stand made from some sapele I chose because it had great potential chatoyance. It sure did. I will add another shot of the stand to this review.

This a top notch hard wood supplier and fun just to visit. I would recommend just a day visit and look around. They are friendly and will answer questions. Fun place and a historic town.

Today was my first time ever in a real lumber yard. The experience was AMAZING! I was rather intimidated when I first got there and didn’t really know where to begin, but the owner, Rick, quickly came out, greeted me, and showed me around the entire property. He explained their services, showed me the tools and machines they have available to customize your sizes and wood for you if necessary, and he checked on me during my time there, to see if I was finding everything okay. EVERYONE was so friendly! I got to meet the City Mayor while there too! The other, frequent customers were very helpful as well and they were great company with great stories. I think I’ve fallen in love with a wood shop and I’m not ashamed of that! Needless to say, I will be going back! Thanks for the amazing experience and if I could give 100 stars ⭐ I would.

Friendliest place around! My wife and I found the live edge table top we wanted along with another beautiful piece for a coffee table. Fair prices, great help, and zero pressure to buy. We had a fine country lunch at a clean, nice diner next door and didn't want to leave the town of Concord. Wish we lived there. True Southern hospitality like most people in Atlanta only dream of!

My husband has been buying from them for years, and this is the first time I came with him. It's a 2-hour drive, but it's so worth it! It was a beautiful drive, quaint town. Their building is really cool. They are all friendly, and the wood is gorgeous. So many amazing types we'd never seen before! And they give fair prices. The Concord Cafe next door is also a convenient treat that adds to the trip.

Excellent selection of domestic and exotic wood, with enough stock to build just about anything you want. The staff is incredibly friendly, the showroom is laid out nicely, and the prices are fair. I live 40 plus miles away and make the trip for 90% of my custom builds.

Good prices, very helpful, middle of nowhere. No cocobolo though.

These guys are awesome to deal with. Wonderful selection and top notch service. Don't know where else you'll find exotics in stock especially on the southside but I'm also not looking anymore, I know where I'll take my business from now on.

The selection and prices are great. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I got exactly what I needed. My wife oohed and ahhed over the beautiful exotic woods. I only got domestic woods, but the window shopping was fun. Maybe someday...

Amazing lumber yard with great speciality wood. If you need nicer plywood than the big box stores, such as Walnut or Cedar, go to this mill. They also have an amazing selection of large live edge table tops.
