Bois D'Arc Conservation Area

We did a controlled pheasant hunt with my daughter's 5th grade class. It was amazing. Very well put on and successful as she got one.

Awesome place! There's a 100 yard pistol/rifle range (shotguns only buckshot and slugs), a patterning range for shotguns and 4 or 5 skeet and trap fields, $3 hourly fee for pistol/rifle range and $3/box for skeet and trap. There's also an archery range but I've never used it so I don't really know how it works. There's also a building with restrooms, a vending machine, some class rooms and lots of stuffed animals and info about conservation. It's a fun place.

This place was amazing, I've heard of it but no one told me how badass this place was. There is a 100% chance I will be going back.

Beautiful day hike or hunting area. Well maintained. Mowed. Clean. Lots of parking. Maps readily available. Close to gun range.

We went to the shooting range. It was a nice facility. Very well organized. Range master was very aware and ensured safety was a priority.

4$ per hour as a Conservation member. Includes guest. Safety measures for everyone target practicing. Assistance for common issues on the range. Free eye and hearing measurements. A community cart for gun maintenance.

The rifle and pistol range is very well kept and the range safety is excellent , well worth the 4 dollar cost. The booths have shooting rests and benches for optic sighting , the lanes have movable target stands and the paper targets are provided.
The staff are courteous and professional , making for an enjoyable day at the range.

Update : April 5 2022 the range has a new sign in process that requires either a fishing or hunting permit or a Missouri conservation ID card OR a manual write in via one of several touch screen kiosks.
Additionally , the range now has spotter scopes at every booth ( attached via steel cables ) AND free safety glasses as well as earplugs. Still the best four dollar deal for shooting , especially since the open range at Pleasant Hope is closed indefinitely.
Update : 5/10/22 the rifle and pistol range are closed , the staff informed us that Jefferson City wants to make recommendations but they haven't yet ,so no reopening date is set.
The shotgun / skeet portion is open.
Update 5/23/23 the rebuilt range is now open with the recommended improvements in place and it is still the best bargain for a range at four bucks an hour , with strict safety measures in place .

One of the nicest ranges in the area, and a fantastic bargain. Went to the range with 10 people, teaching my kids elementary gun safety, and target shooting. It cost me 6 dollars to shoot for a couple of hours. We had a blast. Very safe environment. Very Nice equipment. Free targets. they have a shotgun range as well, with clay and skeet shooting.

Staffed shooting range! Very professional and clean facilities. Extremely affordable but you have to bring your own rounds. Great time, eveytime!

Hands down best range in the greater Springfield

Very beautiful and well kept state park area. The shooting range here is top notch although a very restrictive on how you can shoot. Overall the shooting range is worth it for the price and if you are just doing basic target shooting (it's a safety and educational range so no human like targets, no more then one shot every 3 seconds, etc.).

Clean and well managed range. Only $3 for and hour. We are lucky to have this nice facility. Range Master on duty, very well ran and very organized. Much safer than an unmanned outdoor range. Everyone has been very polite and friendly, our favorite range!

We take our residents there several times a year. Very well maintained and clean. The residents always catch fish!

First time here was a great place for a shooting range. Very safe indeed, for $3.00 per hour is very cheap, also they have hearing and eye protection with the price. So differently a come back too.

Spent a few hours at the range at Andy Dalton Shooting range. Had a blast. Wife enjoyed immensely. It was her first trip to the range. The conservation personnel the are very friendly and very helpful. Always a great place to shoot. Thanks guys.

This is a very clean, safe range. It is ran well it's very safe. Staff are friendly yet serious. The Lanes are nice and accommodates all types of firearms

I was very pleasantly surprised. I've known about this place for years because it's only about ten miles from my house. But to look at it, I thought it was nothing more than old flat fields. But yesterday I went to the orange tree trails, the same area that contains Watkins cave. I had a blast. Not flat at all and alot of different geological features. Not to mention all the wildlife. I can't wait to go again
