Bob's House of Basses

Bob is an extremely kind individual who truly cares about music and basses and students. I came here with a student to look at a Shen hybrid bass to purchase. It was beautiful and well set up, and Bob took the time to talk to us about the instrument and all of its particulars. Bob rents to many students in the area and services school instruments, so right now is a very busy time in his line of work. I will definitely be recommending him to future students!

Keep in mind Bob is one guy and this bass shop is out of his house. But Bob is super helpful if you are seeking stuff out. He is also the arcus bass bow dealer in the area. Either way he was super helpful, and this is a great small shop from one of the most knowledgeable musicians in the area.

Bob, as a pro bassist himself, has a great thing going. He’ll set you up great, lots of extras thrown in. Warranty, trade up program, pro luthier set up right out of the shop with string of choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him about a purchase.

Bob’s is the best place in the mid Atlantic for upright basses hands down! I got my Shen from them and couldn’t be happier with their pre and post sales service and support. Their warranty alone is worth the visit.
