The William & Garland Motel

Great family owned business with excellent service. We have been guests here for 25 years and have stayed in each type of room. William and Peggy have always treated us like family, and it appears Amanda and Perry are carrying on the southern hospitality tradition. Great to see the new mattresses and tropical bed linens. Always a clean, comfortable room. The updated services through computer, e-mail and text are very convenient. Great value, beautiful beach access, quiet relaxation, and pet friendly.

What a wonderful experience we had staying at the William and Garland. My wife Karen our pup, Tucker and I felt so at home. An attentive staff always checking our needs. The short amble to the ocean across the beautiful dunes or stroll across the street to the harbor side just enjoying the salty breeze. An abundance of fresh seafood options and a little kitchenette in the room makes for tasty dinners. I look forward to returning...its home away from home.

Our family rents a beach house every year for a week in July. The house that we usually stay in does not allow pets. Our 11 year old husky was diagnosed with a terminal medical condition a couple months ago. We decided last minute to try to take her with us due to how much stress boarding causes her. Obviously, our options were limited because of the timing. My husband ended up renting a room at William and Garland for he and our husky to stay in since our beach house was only a couple of miles away. Staff at William and Garland were very understanding of the circumstances. The room was clean and stayed cool all day long. Would definitely stay again.

A step back in time to southern hospitality. My family and I loved our stay in two of the mobile homes. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us coming in at 2:30 a.m. We had a wonderful time, very beautiful private beach access. Hope to see them again next year.

Excellent family owned place to stay and dog friendly!
The dinette was a huge plus… it was stocked with silverware/plates/bowels/cups and pots/pans.
Check in was super easy due to the fact they message you with your room number and meet you at your door upon arrival.
Beach access was super convenient and an easy 3-5 minute walk.
If you are looking for a home away from home feeling then this is definitely the place for you!

My name is Johnny Lewis and I am a contractor working in the Atlantic Beach area at the moment. I had some problems with one of my work trucks and The William & Garland was literally right there. Was able to drive my truck over there. They gave me a discounted price for stay, it was just myself. I wound up staying for 3 days just to fix my truck. They actually let me fix the issue with my truck right there in the parking lot, right in front of my room. Very very friendly people. The third day I finally fixed my truck and had already paid for my room for that night I thought but I decided to leave early as to go back home to see my family since I had gotten my truck fixed. Amanda messaged me and informed me that they hadn't taken out the 3rd day payment and wasn't going too. These people are great and if your looking for some peace of mind, this place is great.
Highly recommend this place for a quick stay, or longer. Great grill + bar restaurants literally right across the street, right on the water.
I'll be back to stay again for sure

I've been coming here for a few years with my family. Many single one night stays and a week with the entire family. The family who owns this place are absolutely amazing. Always so kind and welcoming. No its not a 5 star motel but it comfortable, clean, and the private area beach is perfect. And the restaurant's across the street are really good. Can't wait to see you all again soon!

We just stayed a week here with our 3 kids, and these people were so kind and helpful! They even gave our car a jump when it randomly died. The room was so intelligently designed, we were able to function perfectly as if we were in our own home. We bought groceries on the mainland, and put them in the cabinets and the fridge. It saved us a ton of money we were then able to spend on actual experiences with our kids.
My husband kept saying it was like they thought of everything. A broom for the sand, lights exactly where we would need them, all the dishes and towels, even a tiny bottle of dish soap.
We met some neighbors who said they'd been coming here every year for 10 years, and they love it.
The path to the beach was quiet and felt very private and safe. The only people we ever saw using it were 2 other people staying in the same motel as us. The beach was nearly empty, even during the 4th of July. All the crowds are on the far end of the island, and the middle, where we were, was nice and peaceful.
Still close access to conveniences like shopping and go karts.

Love EVERYTHING about this motel! Great rooms,and wonderful owners! Known them for years!! Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I can't say enough good things about our recent stay, at William & Garland Motel, my Husband and I have been visiting there for the past thirteen years, it's being ran now by Ms. Peggy and Mr. William's Granddaughter (Amanda) and her Husband (Perry) , we were asked to call apon arrival, as we exited our vehicle we were greeted by Amanda whom was very friendly and welcoming, as we entered our room we were excited to see the upgrades they had done, new mattresses and bedding with a tropical look, the room was very clean and inviting. The following day we had a problem with our TV, I sent Amanda a text and she came right over to help us, later the same day we had a knock at our door announcing housekeeping and it was Perry, he was just as friendly and welcoming as Amanda, willing to help us with anything to make our stay as pleasant as possible, and it was a great stay ,we're looking forward to our next visit! Thank you Amanda and Perry!

Nice staff, clean rooms and a great location ! The only complaint I would have is the crying dog (not fun at 6am!) next to us. But it didn't ruin our trip. We'll be back !

Looks are deceiving... Dont be fooled... this place is the BEST kept secret in Atlantic beach. The owners are awesome people, staff is friendly and the room was clean, the smell of bleach when I first entered. It's very clean. Comes with a full kitchen, full bath, kitchen has plates, silverware, pots and pans, cups ..etc.

Very quiet. Private entrance to the beach. Once on the beach, you basically have it all to yourself and family, secluded walk down the path and it opens up to the ocean.

My family is very impressed by this place and we will be staying here again soon.

You cannot book online you have to call and reserve your room over the phone but it's very easy because like I said the owners are very nice people.

We got our room, a double with kitchen for 130 a night, very reasonable priced compared to other places like Hilton (which is up above 250 - 350 per night.

We've stayed here previously and love it's dog friendly and close to a number of things. Walk to the beach, go surf fishing , visit the aquarium, etc. Owners are very friendly. Big Oak drive-in right next door. ☺😋🐾🐾⛱🌊🐚

For a quaint, relatively inexpensive place.. absolutely loved it! The decor and construction materials of the place are outdated. (70s style panel walls, etc.) But it honestly adds to its charm! (Feels like grandma's house) the rooms are sufficient size complete with a kitchen sink, stove/oven, apartment size refrigerator, coffee maker, even ceramic dishes and silverware! The owner is a super sweet lady. The fun 2-3 minute walk to the beach adds to the experience, having to navigate through a small path of privacy fence, through some beautiful dunes (about 25 yards), and then ultimately ending up on a beautiful, relatively uninhabited beach! Would definitely go back. Also.. Cash incentives for paying cash.

The owners are the nicest people, my family has been going to them for years, rooms are pretty spacious for a small family, but for the larger family's they have the option of 3 separate trailers. Of course you'll have to book them in advance. They have there own path down to the beach, its a bit of a walk but not to bad. The beach itself is extremely secluded and quiet, most you'll see is 2-3 other groups near you.

Oh my these are real friendly people. I stayed in small room with full bed. Just perfect for myself and little dog. Reasonably price clean room and beach is about 5 min walk. If you stay longer they have kitchenette but a mini fridge and microwave in other rooms. Went to outter banks which too pricey. I should have just came here. Very worth it. A good mom and pop place.

These are the best folks ever. This is a family run business that has been in their family for many years. They take much pride in keeping a very clean and safe family and pet friendly motel. Only $5 more a night to bring your pet along - where else can you find that on the Crystal Coast beaches....nowhere. The rooms are immaculately clean. It is an old motel but is much cleaner than any new place we've ever stayed. The best thing to say is that staying there is like staying with family. They are so friendly, checked with us to make sure we had enough towels, asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything. We were referred to stay there by friends of ours who have been coming here every year for 30 years. Best part is the rates are the same year round, they don't raise the rates just because it's summer. And right next door is the Big Oak drive-in restaurant with the best shrimp burgers you'll ever have. Nice natural walkway to the beach. While we were there, we never saw more than about 20 people on the beach in this area of Salter Path. We've found where we will stay at the beach every year now.

This motel is so down to earth . They are pet friendly. . Clean A+.This is our 3rd trip here. Would not go anywhere else.
We came in at just a shade under midnight and our door was left unlocked as/per our request and keys on counter. We spoke with management and we agreed to pay the next day for our entire stay . No trust issues here folks. Fresh sheets and towels upon request. Not a franchise , Privately owned. I feel honored to be able to stay here.

This place is wonderful. The owners are nice and their puppy dogs are as sweet as can be. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while starting here. If you want a nice vacation without spending a fortune then this is your place. We couldn't recommend William and Garland Motel more highly. Great place, nice folks!
