The teachers, Mike and Caitlin are wonderful to work with. They’ve been flexible and helpful in matching our 11 yr old son and 4 and 6 yr girls with great teachers! Fall fest is also an easy and non-intimidating event for kids to share their music with friends and family!

My sons teacher retired and she referred me here for my sons violin lessons. I was weary at first since she also taught my older son. I signed my son up for summer lessons. My son was paired with Alex, (who reminds me of a lot of my older son) and he knows what he’s doing. I knew he would be a good teacher for my son and they would get along. He’s really nice and my son likes taking lessons from him. Before my son would sometimes make excuses to try to get out of his lessons, but he doesn’t anymore. The lessons are almost right after school, so we drive straight to them. Their building is in downtown Anderson in the Arts building, so it’s not too far from our house. Yes, I would recommend bringing your child here for lessons 🎻😀 I heard my son playing the other night and his playing is improving. 👍 I’m glad his teacher recommended them.

My 5 years old little girl is learning piano at this wonderful place. Her teacher is Mr. Alex who is giving her wonderful piano lessons with a lots of love. This is the best place your little ones start their music alphabet.....

I would highly recommend Sounds of Anderson, they are very honest and good willed in the way they do business. I have learned so much from Jared and I definitely see the benefit in taking lessons.

Our daughter takes violin lessons with Caitlin at Sounds of Carolina Music Academy. Caitlin is a kind, patient, encouraging teacher who made our 10 year old feel comfortable right away. She corrects mistakes with grace and also makes her feel good about her progress. I think the highest compliment for Caitlin and the school is that our daughter wants to continue playing and talks about playing violin many years in the future.

At Sounds of Carolina, Caitlin has created a lovely hub of creativity where music lessons are a great experience for both students and caregivers. The atmosphere is charming, and the multi-instrument environment makes lessons and concerts dynamic and engaging. When the instructors practice, it feels like you should be sitting inside a large music hall, and the students are able to see the amazing benefits of dedication and practice. Caitlin’s philosophy about fostering a lifelong love of music while upholding standards of excellence is a perfect combination. My children love music, and I’ve also noticed developments in other aspects of their life, such as growing confidence and better reading skills. It has been a joy to be a part of this splendid community, and we look forward to many more great experiences.

We just started violin lessons with Caitlin at Sounds of Carolina Music Academy. The studio is a lovely and inviting space. My 9 year old took to Ms. Caitlin and the violin right away. Caitlin is very sweet and has a kind and encouraging way of teaching and correcting mistakes.

Our daughter has been taking violin for 7 years. Until the end of 2017, she had had basically only one teacher, other than 1 year that this teacher was on maternity leave. When this teacher moved too far away, we reluctantly had to find a new studio/teacher. Thankfully, we found Caitlin Whitehouse at Sounds of Carolina. We thought we were going to have to sample several teachers before finding the right one, but we made the decision to stick with Caitlin after only one lesson. She has been the perfect fit! She understands and encourages a variety of musical styles, and works to provide performance opportunities beyond the standard recital format. She is conveniently located and the fees are competitive.

The Sounds of Carolina Music Academy is a wonderful place to learn and grow in music! When I played in the Carolina Youth Symphony this program helped my musical ability in so many ways. Playing with these wonderful people brightens my day and teaches me so many wonderful things. Ms. Caitlin and Brent let me experience variety of music including classical to bluegrass. The academy is a wonderful place and a great learning environment.

You will not meet a more kind, compassionate, and dedicated teacher as you have Caitlin Whitehouse. My daughter has taken lessons with Caitlin since October of 2016 and in that time she has learned so much.
If you are looking for a place for your child to learn strings or piano they are a great place for either beginners or the experienced.

I am Cynthia Freeman, a 54 year old beginner piano student. I began lessons with Caitlin one year ago in her studio at the Anderson Arts Center in Anderson, SC. I very much enjoyed the environment and the lessons in person. However, I have discovered that the virtual Skype lessons lost nothing in translation and there is a convenience to participating from my piano at home in Greenville, SC. To know Caitlin is to LOVE Caitlin just as much in reality as in virtual reality! I highly recommend Caitlin and the Sounds of Carolina Music Academy.

It's not a music school, it's THE music school! If you love music, and you want to become part of a music family, go there! They have locations in Anderson and Greenville, accommodate for all personal needs or requests, and have a fantastic crew of teachers! And I think it's fair to say, that a score of 5.0 of the average reviews at the time of writing confirms that I am not the only one who feels that way! Big shout out to y'all!

Sounds of Carolina is a great place to learn to play an instrument. The instructors (Mike and Caitlin are the ones I've interacted with) are top notch and really work with you in a no pressure environment. Definitely recommend them for all ages.

Caitlin has been my son's instructor for several years now. He has gained a lot of experience with her. She has a wonderfully nurturing style of teaching and I highly recommend her to anyone that asks!

Both of my daughters have been taking cello and violin lessons with SOC for several months. They are very professional and work extremely well with children of all ages. They both love their teachers and look forward to going every week.
