Oh my gosh, where to even start. This was nothing short of a FANTASTIC experience!!! Even though this was our 6th Hot Air Balloon flight, Ray and his crew has been our favorite!! They are very knowledgeable and experienced. Not only did we feel safe, this was the smoothest landing ever!!! We felt like we had known them all for many years. The hug before we parted ways sealed the deal….they felt like family.

My hubby proposed in a hot air balloon 32 years ago and going up has just kinda become our ‘thing’. On the way to the launch site, we talked about how we have collected ornaments from every trip we’ve taken and have a ‘vacation’ tree…..They truly listened. When we got back and were having our celebratory mimosas, they presented me with the cork turned hot air balloon ornament for our tree. What a great momento!! ♥

I'm sorry I took a couple of days to leave this review. I needed to ensure I had the time to use the right words to describe my experience.

IT WAS MAGICAL!

I got this to my spouse as a birthday gift, and I didn't know I needed to have this experience in my life too. Like, I wanted to flight a hot air balloon, but didn't know I -needed- it. Lol.

Ray and Mary Ann were phenomenal in making sure we both had an unforgettable experience. From that first touch when confirming the trip, to seeing the balloon inflate, to being on the sky flying over foliage with fall colors, to the arrival toast.

Everything was per-fect. Could not ask for anything less or more.

I wish many more people could go through the experience of flying a Hot Air Ballon. It will make a Happier World.

Celebrating our Fifties Anniversary we decided to take a hot air balloon ride with "What's Up Ballooning, Inc" in Sevierville TN and we just had a GREAT morning! Ray and his staff were super nice, engaging and absolutely fun to be with!!! We would give them 10 Stars if we could. Great people and very professional!!

From the moment we arrived until we headed home this was a fabulous experience. To start, we had an offer to help with the setup which we quickly agreed to. Getting the balloon inflated was a great experience to watch and a learning experience to boot. The flight was beautiful - not noisy like I had thought. Five stars on the landing. Even volunteering to pack up the balloon and basket was fun! Strongly recommend and my spouse and I will come again.

We took our son on his first hot air balloon ride and he loved it (we all did)! Ray was an awesome pilot and the rest of the crew (Mary Ann, Amy, and Jim) were wonderful as well! They really make you feel like part of the team. Also love that they document the whole thing so you can get candid shots and video of the day too. Definitely recommend them if you’re ever in the Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge area!

This was the most enjoyable and memorable experience of my life!!!! Ray and his crew made us feel comfortable and like family. We would definitely do this again. If everyone in the world would go up in a balloon and see and hear the peacefulness of God’s creations this world would be a much better place to live in.

This was a fantastic experience. I had always wanted to fly in a hot air balloon and What's Up Ballooning gave me that chance. My wife and I decided to fly for our anniversary and had a blast. There's really no words to describe my personal experience. My wife loved it as well and hasn't stopped talking about it. The views were amazing. I'm local and it's great to see my home from a different perspective. It was like flying in a dream. I'm absolutely hooked now (Thanks Ray!).
Ray and Mary Ann are are professional, experienced and are super friendly. I felt safe the entire time and really had fun helping set up the balloon and tear it down after the flight. I learned a lot about ballooning and found the entire experience fascinating.

Amazing experience. Owners and staff were all so nice, sincere and engaged with everyone. The event started on time and ended at the time they said it would so we could move on with our day.
Views were spectacular, ride was so smooth you lose your fear that your 2800 feet in the air.
When they say wear a hat...THEY AREN'T KIDDING, maybe even something on your neck bc that flame is very hot.

This has been on my bucket list since I was four years old. Today I got to mark it off my list. The weather was perfect and the excitement and experience was amazing!! The whole crew with What's Up Ballooning are awesome, friendly and professional!! We got to watch and participate in the entire process from taking the balloon out of the trailer and setting it up. The crew are very informative and are willing to answer any questions that you may have. The ride is beautiful and peaceful and the landing is soft. I recommend What's Up Ballooning if you are wanting to take a balloon ride.

We had a fantastic time. The ride was so smooth, and peaceful with the best views ever. This was our fist balloon ride and Ray, Mary Ann and Scott made us very comfortable, safe, and relaxed. They tell some of the best stories ever. We didn't realize how clearly we could hear people talking, and dogs barking on the ground from over a 1000 feet in the air. Who knew that cows don't like balloons flying over them. I surely didn't. The trip was a birthday present for us, and boy are we glad that they booked this for us. if you're ever in the Knoxville area, and looking for something unique and different, then this is what you need to do. I can't tank What's Up Ballooning enough for such a wonderful time. We can't wait to go back and do it again.

This experience was absolutely AMAZING! From start to finish! I was so nervous but when we started to go up all I could do was smile! They were very educational and professional, also a lovely couple to be around. I couldn’t have asked for a better day! The views over the mountains were breath taking! Thank y’all so much.

Such a superb group of people! For our honeymoon we wanted to go all out and this place delivered! Ray the owner and pilot was so kind and informative answering all our questions about balloons and letting us even help blow it up and pack it up when done! The trip was gorgeous. Completely breathtaking. We had to go to two fields before taking flight in a safe location. Ray drives you to the balloon launching sites and back for a safe return. Two other people who made this great trip what it was was John the chaser and Ray's wife Maryann who also chased and took pictures. All pictures that were taken were made available to us on the website later that day for free. After landing it was incredible to watch and help pack up the hot air balloon. We then drove back to home base and celebrated with sparkling cider. It was really a perfect trip and one of the best days of our honeymoon. Thank you to what's up ballooning for creating this beautiful memory and we can't wait to come back soon! :)

Had an unforgettable time. I proposed to my fiance at 1600 feet, it was breathtaking. Ray was our pilot and he was very professional and hilarious! This man knows and loves his craft. If you are on the fence of booking a flight, I would recommend it 100% we flew for a little over an hour and had beautiful views👏👌😁 Soft landings!!!

This was one of those once in a lifetime experiences! Of course a ride in a hot air balloon would be, but Ray and Mary Ann make it so special and personal. Before we were done, we felt like part of the family. A great morning with great people! We highly recommend What's Up Ballooning.

My wife has always wanted to ride in a hot air ballon. We went this weekend and had a fabulous time. We took the private ride for our anniversary and plan to return with the family. We felt safe the entire time and Ray’s skill and knowledge of ballooning were amazing. Ray almost landed us in the same place we took off after being in the air for an hour. We had great views of Douglas and Cherokee Lakes and the Smoky Mountains.

My husband and I were surprised with a hot air balloon ride as a gift to us on our honeymoon. I'm so thankful that the person who surprised us with this opportunistic gift went with What's Up Ballooning! The crew was incredibly friendly and professional - they definitely know what they're doing! We loved being a part of the whole experience as well (driving to the launch site, setting up the balloon, going on a ride, and then landing and packing the balloon). Even though we didn't get to ride very far because the wind wasn't blowing, we still enjoyed the amazing view! Definitely more exciting than the hot air balloon attraction in town at Pigeon Forge (you're not tethered to the ground with this one!), and well worth the money. Thank you, crew, for an amazing experience. We're glad we could fly with you, and we're happy to be forever known as "The Figure-Eight Flight."

What a wonderful time we had ballooning! It could not have been better. Along with the perfect weather, the pilot and crew were amazing. For first timers, he made us all feel very safe and really contributed to our fun flight with his calm, organized manner. The lift off and landing could not have been smoother. We really enjoyed our flight over city, forests and fields. The whole adventure from watching the balloon being blown up to our champagne toast was terrific.

Had an amazing experience, the 3 people crew of What's Up Ballooning are amazing people. Very pleasant and professional business. I called at noon one day and the next morning I was up in the air! The whole process is an experience from the drive to the take off spot, to the balloon inflation all the way to the exciting landing and storing the balloon back to the giant bag. Wear comfortable clothing cause you will want to participate in the whole process and you have to climb into and out of the basket. The land crew takes amazing pictures from the ground so no need to have friends take pics for you. Pilot also has GoPro time-lapse video of the whole flight. Worth every penny!!!!!!!!!
