Mookie's Mesquite Patch BBQ

I'm not in that area often, but when I am, I will always eat here. Usually, I just get a few pounds of brisket to go, but we ate lunch there this time and it was somehow even better. He and his wife are always friendly. Well worth the drive for tender, smoked brisket done to perfection.

This is a true gem of Central Texas. If you haven't eaten here you are missing a slice of heaven. Mr. Wallace and his staff are top tier when it comes to the customer experience. The food is high quality. The flavors are out of this world good. The peach lemonade was perfect with the loaded Mac and Cheese bowl.

We showed up at 2pm on a Friday and they were already sold out of everything but chopped brisket. Sign of a great BBQ joint.

Loved the brisket, beans and slaw were good. Going back to try the other menu items.

We catered Mookie’s BBQ for my wedding and it was amazing. Rave reviews from every single person from potato salad to ribs! Fabulous to work with and fabulous food.

I’ve had bbq all over the country - Oklahoma joes, rendezvous, LA bbq, porkys, Arthur Bryant’s - the list goes on and on. This was by far the most memorable and delicious experience of them all. The customer service is excellent, like eating with your family and the bbq is truly second to none. It’s worth traveling for!

Im picky when it comes to my BBQ and this is by far the best I ever had! Here's the kicker: they don't drown out the flavor of the meat with sauce. Excellent!!!

This place is amazing! We've eaten at several of Texas Monthly's top BBQ places, including the most recent #1, and a few of the top 25 on the list. Mookie's deserves to be right there with them! The brisket was perfect, ribs were great, beans and potato salad were super good. We found our new favorite local BBQ spot! Can't wait to try the rest on the menu.

Have eaten there several times now. Food always goes fast. Brisket and ribs are very good. Potato salad and beans are also. Meat portions are generous. Staff is polite.

This was my first time to order from Mookies...all I can say is..your reputation procedes you! Hands down...the best BBQ I've had! I will be back!
