50/50 Family Restaurant

We stopped here because we were looking for someplace near the airport and are always interested in trying some place new. We're very glad we did. The food was very fresh and flavorful.

Oh my goodness! He picked the zucchini from their garden for our dish! Everything tasted so good. You're missing out!

It always feels like dining in your own home when you are here. Edgar and Socrates treat everyone like family and get to know you, and even remember from one visit to the next! The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious! 2 of the 5 of us are vegan, and they custom made their fajitas for us!

Amazing food and friendly service are the hallmarks of this restaurant! We’ve had breakfast several times and each time the food is fresh, the flavor is phenomenal, and the quality is excellent. My wife and I are addicted to the Chilaquiles Verdes and we usually order that and a new dish every time we go. We’ve tried many breakfast items and have never been disappointed.

Friendly and food was great! The food was hot and fresh. The staff was socially distancing and cleaning tables after each guest. Thnaks for a great meal!

Have eaten here several times while attending driving school. Always good food, friendly service, and usually pretty quick on bringing the food out!

We stopped here based on the Google reviews. The restaurant is pretty humble in appearance, but the server was very nice and attentive. The menu is quite large for a small town restaurant and they even had some dinner specials. I got three of the street tacos and my boyfriend got fries and a chicken melt. Everything was really good and probably some of the freshest, hottest food I've got at a restaurant lately. We went at a weird time, but there wasn't anyone else there. It is kind of out of the way, but I'd definitely go back again for tacos. It is hard to find a good taco in Central Illinois but these were pretty yummy. I'd definitely recommend this place, don't let the small town dive appearance deter you.

I just got one of each taco and this was SO TASTY. I'll drive out of my way to get one of these steak or al pastor tacos again. Good place for families. The interior is pretty non descript and the outside looks awful but the food was good enough to make up for it.

Met a special someone for a first date, we totally confused the waiter, and was very understanding, I felt bad because all my date and I did was talk and not eat, but nibbled. I will go again and really enjoy my meal.

Great food, great service, older building could use updated

The food here is absolutely amazing. We came down from Chicagoland which has really good food to begin with, and I would say this place had probably the best breakfast I've ever had. Hats off to the chef!

Our crew eats there often, The cooks, the owner, and overall atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is absorbed Top Notch! They even grow their vegetables in a large garden FRESH, right on site,,, EAT HERE, it's the real deal!

Happened to find this little restaurant after a gathering at the Peoria Natl Guard. From the outside, I wasn't sure what to expect. Surprised by how good the food was and very quick service. If go here again and get the salmon salad again, a long as it came with what's listed on the menu. Wink wink!

Went in for the first time today & had the taco platter. It was not your typical greasy Mexican restaurant food! It was really good! It’s small & clean. Definitely check it out wether you like American or Mexican food, you can’t go wrong.

Great food, fun atmosphere and extremely friendly service. In fact, everyone in the place was friendly. This was a very pleasant expression and we're so glad we found it. The food was unique. Think of it like the name, 50/50...Mexican is available and is delicious (we had the Nacho platter appetizer and I had Mole Enchiladas, but they also have your typical American items (special for the day was BBQ ribs/mac and cheese or walleye with fries). Husband had a 50/50 burger which was chorizo and a 1/4 pound burger on an artisan looking bun (he said it was fluffy and perfect). The burger came with avocado and pico de gallo, but hubby had them bring it on the side. The chorizo is milder than some I've tasted, but delicious. The chips on the nacho were homemade, the crema and cheese sauce were delicious. They also have an extensive breakfast menu, so we will be back to try that.

My wife and I decided to try this place out this morning and we were extremely impressed. The name 50/50 stood for their split menu of Mexican and American cuisine. They had an awesome selection to pick from and the food exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!
