Tekamah United Methodist Church

Went to our annual Charge conference (first time since moving from Lincoln, NE to NE Nebraska/NW Iowa. I was used to two churches being present and in a more rural setting, and with changes made to the official regions of the UMC, it was more like 6-7 or more. Tekamah was a great host and most welcoming. A soup and dessert meal helped put all at ease. I feel that with all the turmoil in the news about churches pulling out that there was a tru cohesiveness to our group. Yes, some had folks who voted to split, but that wasn't our purpose for meeting and I left feeling hopeful for our little rural and small-town congregations. Join any of us on a Sunday morning and I'll bet you are welcomed warmly.
