Gleason-Hubel Wildlife Area

A beautiful place with an awesome trail. Be prepared for a good workout as the hills are steep but the views are worth the sweat

This is a unique and beautiful area. Great place for an all day hike. Low and sharp hills, densely forested. There's not a rock to be found, it's all silty, crumbly loess, held together by tree and grass roots. I saw many different birds here including a number of raptors. This exact spot is the parking lot of a little web network in the southern part of the hills and for Brent's ride which is 8 miles(one way) and ends in the north.

:Warning: on the way back to my car I actually found a tick on me. I didn't think they lived out here but definitely picked one up.

Very beautiful though challenging trails through the bluffs. Love this place.
