This place lives up to its name. Even though it’s a drive to get there, the food alone is worth it. Additionally, the staff are welcoming and attentive. The selections are abundant despite how far away they are from town. They are much more than a bakery by also serving jams, cheese and meats, ect. Be sure to arrive early if you want any of the high recommended baked goods because they sell out fast since most are made fresh daily/weekly.

What???!!! Free glazed donut with coffee??? Yes, please! Best glazed donuts ever, coming out fresh regularly. Buy a box or you’ll regret it—you can always share with a nice construction worker or neighbor. Sweet secret location just a farm block off the country shortcut from Monte Vista to La Jara/Antonito. You can’t see without turning so you’d never have a clue an Amish bakery/mini grocery was right there. Tried several things but the donuts were the reason to return. Don’t miss!

This bakery is WORTH THE DRIVE 😆. If you're nearby or going to the sand dunes make the 30 min detour and thank me later. Fresh baked breads, local made cheeses, fried hand pies, meats, jams etc. They also provide free fresh made donuts and coffee while you shop. Very sweet and everything is delicious.

everything was so so good, especially this BREAD. I could eat a whole loaf. I keep trying to stop myself from eating more of it, and can’t.

the cashier was very nice, the prices were incredibly reasonable, and the free coffee and donut were also delicious.

We bought apple pie and donuts and white bread. Everything was delicious but the flavor of the apple pie crust was amazing so delicious! We’ll be going back to get a bunch of pies for Christmas.

Very delicious bake good! Owners are very friendly & the have a nice clean setup. Prices are very reasonable so if you live in the area or just passing through definitely stop by, I highly recommend it. It is a little off the main road but trust me, it’s worth it. All home made from scratch. They do accept credit/debit cards.

They have a great variety of fresh baked goods, fry pies, deli meats and cheeses, jellies, jams, and the best donuts in Colorado, they melt in your mouth!! My favorite bread is the Jalepeno cheese bread. The chocolate chip cookies are amazing to. You get a free donut and coffee while supplies last. It's always a good idea to call ahead to see when they're open and if you want something specific order ahead an they'll have it ready for you when you get there. If you have trouble finding it just call them, they're happy to give you directions.

I have always been a huge fan of apple and cherry pies (hand pies) but I had never had the opportunity to have “from scratch” creations. I have the say the name of the bakery is a perfect fit it is absolutely worth the drive. The variety of fried pies are plentiful here. Berry and fruit variations along with chocolate and coconut cream which are refrigerated. They are perfectly crafted and wonderful. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. But if you are looking for more than just hand pies don’t worry they have jellies, flavored honey sticks and other pastries available. My favorite jelly is the jalapeño. It’s hard to find the right amount of heat and sweetness but they have the recipe perfected. Last but not least the other local favorite are the glazed donuts. They are massive! They will satisfy your sweet tooth and one is a meal by itself.
