My father has been going to Dr. Krantz since he started his practice. He excepted me as a patient even thou he was not taking any new patients. He addresses all my concerns, listens, and is very professional. I find Teresa very delightful when you get to know her. Terrie always has a smile on her face when I arrive and seems so organized, she is on top of everything going on in the front office. I have been to so many doctors both in Spokane, WA. and now in IF, I like going to Krantz more than any other doctor I’ve been to.

Dr. Krantz has taken care of my mother over 20 years. He has given her great care. She has been hospitalized several times last year and this year. Dr Kranz was right there every day making sure that they found out what was wrong and took necessary steps to correct the problem. Dr Krantz is kind, listens, very knowledgeable, spends time to figure out what's wrong. We would recommend him to anyone!

The receptionist and nurse is Terry. She's all business. She reminds me of the housekeeper on Two and a Half Men and I love her personality!

The office staff and nurse are extremely rude in the treatment of patients to the point that it is abusive. There have been multiple incidences of outright dishonesty from the staff. There is no consideration of patient needs with hearing and vision disabilities nor of those who live out of town. They are disorganized within and do not follow up w tests and lab results. They also would not send records after multiple requests from family and the physician to another medical provider when receiving care out of town when there was emergency hospital care needed. They never did send the records. They say they have called in prescriptions when they haven’t. They made us drive to their office two hours away to pick up medication that they insisted they could not call in to the pharmacy and after picking it up we found out it was an over the counter medication. They intimidate a person so they don’t dare ask questions or call them. Dr Krantz seems to no longer care for patients nor how his staff treat the patients. I feel the office is completely incompetent. I do not recommend them! I would give zero stars.

My mom saw Avondet for almost 30 years. She had a stroke and we discovered she had congestive heart failure, not from him, but from a visiting nurse. The nurse in his office was a terrible challenge as all communication had to go through her. At one point, we were trying to restart hypothyroid medication and neither Avondet nor his nurse had reviewed my mom's chart for her last dosage and called in a dose based on their mistaken belief that she had never been treated for hypothyroidism before. While under Avondet's care, Mom had thyroid cancer and had her thyroid removed, hence the need for thyroid medicine. This was all in her chart, but neither one reviewed it. Avondet was also unresponsive about one of mom's chief symptoms -- a cough that was strong enough that she was turning blue in the face. He said she would eventually pass out and start breathing again. Her cough was a combination of aspiration and CHF. Really bad care. I would discourage anyone from seeing this doctor.

He was my mom’s primary care physician. She was admitted to the ICU on Sunday in critical condition. She got transferred to hospice by Monday. Several calls were made to him from the hospital staff, including other Drs. He never showed up to check on her or consult with our family. She died on Wednesday. Still haven’t heard from him. Absolutely appalling and unprofessional. I hope no one has to go through this.

Office receptionist is always rude when you call. IF you even get through to the office. Half the time you get sent directly to the answering service which is useless to help you except to tell you no one is in the office.

We had an health situation with my sister that needed immediate attention (not emergency room worthy) and needed a healthy connections referral on a Friday. Called at 12 and was told by the answering service that everyone was at lunch and to call back at 1. Called back at 1 and the receptionist said everyone was out for the day and there was nothing she could do until Monday. I explained the situation hoping she could help in some way (like maybe the Drs. would have some way of getting their patients help when they weren't in) and she once again told me there was no way of getting the referral.

We ended up having to call Medicaid directly to get it taken care of.

Basically this office has terrible patient care, a very rude receptionist and the nurse we have there is also rude. It's an older, out of date office and there are certainly better places to go in town. Been going there for years and it's the same type of issues over and over. I don't plan on going back.

My family was transferred to Idaho a year and a half ago. The move was stressful. Symptoms of heart palpitations, chest pain, being tired, etc. accompanied by the comment, "something isn't right" was explain to either a doctor or nurse. I have received the following responses from the medical professionals; "you must not be taking your medication correctly", (I take one pill for thyroid, not a challenge), "Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos disease are the same" (NOT true) I asked for more blood tests to check vitamin deficiencies, "that's too expensive, you're eating aren't you?!".
3 weeks ago I walked into the clinic and explained to the nurse, I feel like I'm having a heart attack, response...... "We just need to check your thyroid, come back in 3 weeks for blood work".
This is a sample of the care I've received. Until this day no one has had any urgency to check a 47 year old woman for heart attack symptoms. According to them my cholesterol is high. Why wouldn't you run tests as a precautionary measure? OR review side effects from the ONE pill I take? When I mentioned Levothyroxine had a recall on April 5th and the details were classified, the nurse said "nothing has been on the news and the medication has been used for many years", a simple gesture of research would have been appreciated, but no that would be over the top professionalism.
Recently, I went to a Community Care and within 20 minutes was told I have Hashimotos, stop taking my medication, and sent to an Endocrinologist for my symptoms from the SIDE EFFECTS of my medication. Lastly, my cholesterol is NOT a concern.
Although slightly unfair to criticize at this point due to the fact that treatment is ongoing, but at least now I feel like my health is an important partnership with my doctor/nurse, not a debate.
