I stumbled across this company at the SOWA Marketplace in South Boston a few months back. With some gentle encouragement from my wife, I ordered a pair of the Valparaiso boots. First, they take several measurements of your foot. I have really high arches, and my ankles are a little narrow, so there are a few things that make fitting shoes difficult for me. Secondly, they give you a swatch of different leather colors to choose from. This is awesome for me because I like my shoes to be a little more eclectic.The order was sent to the cobbler, who is from Guatemela. They actually pay their cobblers a lot more than the average worker makes in that country, so it makes you feel good that you can support a company that pays their workers more than basic income. To make a long story short, I have been wearing my new boots for about a month. I don't know if all custom made shoes are this good, but they have got to be the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn! I cannot say enough good things about my new boots. Keep up the good work Adelante, you have a customer for life!

Walked in to buy a pair of shoes. 👞 The staff was very helpful and kind. Love that this company makes shoes for you personally. They are not mass produced. Great quality shoes! It's wonderful to see the benefit of my purchase which directly impacts the artisan who made them. I just love Adelante! ❤

I stumbled into this store last weekend while shopping on Newbury. I really like how timeless the women's shoe styles are. Shop clerk was helpful, and I find the brand's sustainable/ethical sourcing model unique! I liked how the shoes sizes are customizable as well based on your measurements.

Great experience. Don't be intimidated. Shoes are amazing quality and they walk you through each step of the process.

The price is really fair for a good year welted recraftable shoe. One of the only places that makes quality good year welted shoes for women.

I wrote a review a few weeks ago critical of the companies customer support. I placed the order and got a confirmation, according to Adelante marketing material, the shoes would be custom made and delivered within 10 days, after 20 days I thought I'd get information on my order, I called customer service, no answer, leave a message. I tried their web based chat, no one is available today. At this point I decided to check out Adelante's reviews, at which time Adelante had 3 stars and I notice reading other reviews, customers were having similar issues or quality issues. Not long after my review was posted (which could have been a coincidence), I got multiple calls for the company and a confirmation my shoes were to ship that week. For the record, the company did finally follow up with me, the order did arrive that week and the shoes were of very high quality. Although Adelante could do a better job with customer support, the shoes were very nicely manufactured. 5 stars for quality, 2 stars for customer service before the post, 5 stars after the post. I'll buy another pair from the company...maybe this was a one time issue.

Beautiful shoes, but customer service is a mess. My order took months to arrive so I had to update my shipping address because I had moved before they shipped. Apparently they updated the shipping address on someone else's order, sent the wrong order to the right address, and the right order to the wrong address. Now I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the shoes that aren't mine and support has gone silent. I feel bad for the person expecting them.

Adelante has incredible shoes and a great mission, really wanted to get a pair from their store. Unfortunately the day i visited the service was not the same. I was in the store for 30 minutes with questions and wanting to try out shoes but the employee was too busy to communicate that they can not take or attend people (there was only one person in store).

I requested an appointment weeks back for this coming Sunday 9/26 at your Boston store. Yet to hear back.

I have had a difficult time getting the correct pair of shoes for almost three months. I first placed my order on August 15th in store after being so excited by the mission at the SoWa market booth that I drove over. I waited weeks then received the wrong style. Understanding that mistakes happen, the Catalinas were then delivered after another month. Unfortunately, these were the wrong color from my original order. I drove into the city to talk to someone in person and get the order correct. The correct shoes arrived at the end of October, almost three months after first placing the order. Considering the high price and effort to get the correct pair, it was disappointing when the shoes arrived and had manufacturing errors on them. I reached out to customer service for a refund and they stonewalled me and instead offered to try shipping a pair for the FOURTH TIME. Save your money and time.

On July 8, my husband and I got two pairs of these shoes at a stand in Martha's Vineyard. We spent around 40 minutes fitting the shoes and choosing the color and style.
The seller told us that our order would be delivered within 5 days to our home.
A week later, a representative called again to ask for our size and style.
Then, one of the pair arrived 3 weeks later, in the wrong size and color.

So I bought my 1st pair of Adelante shoes as a Xmas present for my self during your Black Friday sale & not happy at all. So I try out a pair at your DC stand & the 11.5 shoe for ole a glove n I chose to wait until after Xmas delivery so I could get the shoe care for free like you guys advertised. Well the shoes arrived on 12-23 n they did not fit at all. To make matters worse you guys did not send me the shoe care as a gift like you advertised. When I ask you guys over email about exchange n what happened to the shoe care you guys responded since the shoes arrived before Xmas then I would not get that. I’m like no you guys decided to send it before Xmas rigatoni’s it’s on you. I opted to wait after Christmas. You can not offer something then take it back because the shoes were deliver 2 days before Christmas. The shoes still took over 10 days to arrived n that is just bad business practices. Shoes are going back. Was going to just exchange it but the respond you guys gave me over email left me with a bad taste in my mouth 🤨. Take note of good costumer service from @Nordstrom or @bloomingdales they do know how to take care of their costumers. Bad service n false advertisement would not get you far in this day and age. Now you guys are saying I never respond to the email where about waiting until after Xmas delivery. You guys never send one and after waiting 10 days for some kind of status in my order I had to email to see the stats. What a joke. Shoes took 16 days to arrived, they do not fit. Since you guys are saying I never opted for the offer (when I did when I was buying the shoes) then the shoes should had arrived within 10 days like you say in your website. @adelanteshoeco

I went to the store on Newbury street during their listed hours. I had checked their website and they were listed as closed for the weekdays (February vacation 2022), but open on Saturday and Sunday.
We drove an hour to come here, only to find they were not open a half hour after their posted opening time. Incredibly unprofessional.

Beware. Just drove an hour from the burbs during the posted “open for business“ hours, only to find an empty store with a padlock out front. Appears to still be in business, but no one there. Really wish I had known! Two hours of my life I’ll never get back. 😩
