Skrimp Shack

This Skrimp Shack location is tops! The staff, food and facility were the best I've had! It was so clean I was impressed. The people were genuine and friendly, just what you hope for having a nice lunch with your daughter. What blows my mind is how darn yummy the hush puppies are, you literally cannot get them this good anywhere else!

I ordered the grilled shrimp with sweet potato fries. They were excellent, exactly what I wanted. My husband ordered the Whiting sandwich. One of the cheese options was pepperjack. We both that was unique and a good selection. The place is clean, with fun beach like decor and great service. If you are south of Richmond on 95, do a search, it wont disappoint.

Wow!!!!! This Seafood was Amazing!!! I was visiting from Atlanta. They had fried Mahi Mahi!! What a awesome option and it was delicious!! They also have grill options which are delicious as well! The oysters were very fresh!! They Fry it to perfection with very little grease residue and it is “Full” of Flavor!! Also make sure to ask for the white sauce because it taste great! Definitely will visit this Skrimp Shack again and it has become one of my favorite spots!!

This place is GREAT! The fried okra is fresh and perfect. The shrimp is good size, and fried hot and juicy. Can’t beat the price or the speed. I’ve been to some other Skrimp Shack locations, and this one is very nice. It’s very spacious. The kitchen is open too, which I think is neat, since you can watch the action while you eat. I had a good experience at this location and will return. You should try it!

Shrimp and fish tacos are great! I am in love with their sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter. The staff are always kind and accommodating.

They said “best Fish Sandwich in Town”. They are not lying! Awesome catfish sandwich. The breading is very light with a taste of cornmeal but not the grainy chew of cornmeal. Catfish is firm but not over cooked. Delightfully delicious for a catfish lover like me.

Excellent skrimp and whiting fish! Called ahead and ordered to-go. Price was a little higher than what I saw online but that's usually the case so far that I've seen with Covid and what not.

Collards were soft and full of flavor. Skrimp was juicy and still crispy, didn't taste like frozen shrimps. Fish had the skin on some pieces so you get some fishy taste from that but dip it in that spicy sauce and you won't taste it.

Fantastic seafood at reasonable prices. The scallops and clams are my favorite! Shown in this review is the clam basket. For $12 you get this and a drink. Eat here about every 2 weeks for lunch and food quality has been consistently great!

2nd time here I enjoyed it so much last week that I wanted to try something else on their menu. So today I orders shrimp and Whiting with collard greens and a drink all for a reasonable price. Place was clean and staff very friendly. I also love when they ask for your name and call it out when your order is ready. You can dine in or take out.

We're from Georgia and we were visiting friends in Chester, I wanted a fish Taco snack before going back to the house and preparing dinner.
Well I got a 2 catfish Taco combo, got so much food I didn't need dinner.
My Bride got the Chicken fingers, and our friend got the Shrimp combo kids meal, neither could finish their food 🤣🤣.
Great food and this place had a constant flow of people !!!!

Was a little pricy for 3 people to eat. All very good with large portions. Friendly staff and clean environment. I will go again.

My mom and I like to have lunch here every so often. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, brightly lit, and has cute decor. Usually I get the skrimp basket with mac and cheese or collards, sometimes fries. I've also had the catfish. The catfish is so tender, perfectly breaded, and perfectly fried. And the shrimp is the same. I've been eating here since they opened and I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. If they haven't sold out of their dessert, I try to get a cookie and my mom loves their banana pudding.

Absolutely AMAZING!!! The shrimp were the size of half dollars and were perfectly breaded and tender! The whiting was good as well. If you're in the mood for seafood, come here and try them out!!! I'm in love and will have to come visit here often when I'm in the area!!

It was our first time there and the food was delicious and hot and the place was so clean and the staff were polite and quick with our food. We will be coming back again and we will be tell others about y'all if they like nice fish.

Have never been disappointed, love the fried flounder and large portion, fries are great, as are the sweet potato fries. Hubby said oysters were fried perfect.
Now, can you get grilled fish rather than breaded and fried? Hubby not eating breading?

A little hard to find but definitely worth the trip. Generous portions prepared fresh. probably the best fried shrimp I've ever had. Very light batter and very tasty. The flounder was great too. And I've never seen a bigger brownie! The staff was super friendly. Definitely go. I'll be back.

The staff was so great! Friendly and helpful counter and serving staff. Food was hot and fresh. I took my husband here for his first experience. I had visited the restaurant in Hopewell and decided to try the Colonial Heights location while visiting from TN. We had the shrimp basket with corn, fries, okra and hush puppies. Hands down once of the best places we have found to eat in this neck of the woods!
