Tool & Truck Rental Center at The Home Depot

Great prices and nice people. Best place to save - just not more local than sunbelt and united rentals for me. Sometimes I wish I'd just stick with Home Depot vs paying more for convenience

Best truck rental terms - hands down.

Rusty in lumber did a fantastic job! I called and was placed on hold for more than 25 minutes. I called back and got the auto attend and directed the call to lumber since there is always someone In that department. Rusty answered and literally walked the phone to tool rental and had my answer in less than 2 minutes! Way to go Rusty. However, the store could do a much better job answering the phones.

I rented a carpet cleaner for $50 for 24 hours. I asked the associate to inspect it and he did visually from the comfort of his seat in other side of the counter?
I took the carpet cleaner and one hour later, it stopped working and we noticed that it is similar to the one that I paid $250 for it. It is not Pro type. I retuned it few hours later around 4:30 PM. The lady in the counter was not happy to hear about my complaints. She was talking loudly infront of other customers yelling that We should read the contract, that I had to call right after the machine stopped working and that I didn't purchase insurance in the top of the $50 that I paid? later she fully refunded the amount, but I didn't like the customer service neither the way she was talking to me. While I am a loyal Home depot customer, but I will not rent anything from this shop again,

We reserved a large ladder over the phone because the online reservation system was not working. We drove 30 minutes from Fredericksburg to pick up the ladder. We reserved it for 1200 pm pickup and were told that if we were 30 minutes late, they would cancel our reservation. We arrived just before 11:30 and went inside. At 11:33, after standing in line for at least 5 minutes, the attendant am asked what we needed; we told him; without even checking the computer, he says your reservation was canceled. My wife asks why; he says because you are more than 30 minutes late. We had to explain to him that it was only just after 11:30, aside from the fact that we were standing in line waiting for him, it was not even our reservation time yet. He finally realizes that his time is off and shows us the ladder that HE had described as a 24 foot A-frame ladder was actually a 16 ft adjustable ladder. We wasted a trip, he was pretty rude telling us that we were late without even checking and he dies not know a straight ladder from an A-frame. Wasted gas, wasted time, wasted trip. Please train your people better Home Depot!!!

This Home Depot location is in DESPERATE need of some training in customer service! When you work at the customer service desk especially, it is imperative that you treat customers respectfully. Millie has no business in that position. Being blatantly rude and hanging up on customers is not acceptable. I am also a pro who spends a LOT of money at Home Depot. Please get some folks who are mature to handle customer service.
