Get the Chile rellenado. You won't regret it.
We were looking for a Mexican restaurant that had good reviews and this was beyond my expectations. Chile rellenado can be hit or miss but I'm very satisfied with my experience.

Service was great.

Mexican music had me show my boyfriend some dance moves lol

The horchata came in these cute glasses! 😍

We rolled in for late lunch today. We had not been here and hope it would good.
Our experience was excellent ! The place was clean and cool looking with exposed rock and a wood floor. Our waitress was nice and quick with fresh chips and homemade salsa. The food was the stand out. The fish tacos are AMAZING. My wife had the carnitas quesadilla which was also very good. We will absolutely be back soon. Until then I will dream of the tacos.
Thank you❤

Great food and music! Definitely try the horchata, it is authentic! I ordered the huarache and it was really good too! I would recommend you bring cash though as there is a 4% charge for credit card.

Fish tacos were delicious. We also ordered taco salad, a jalapeño burger with Wagyu beef and fries, and cheese quesadillas for the kids. Good food and excellent service.

Great food!! Salsa is roasted and chips are freshly made. Chile Verde was nicely seasoned and not fatty at all. Loved the Quesabirria, tender meat and sauce for dipping was flavorful (no cinnamon which I appreciate). Server was hustling!! Full house on Thursday night. Really reasonable prices for this economy. 2 dinners, 4 drinks, chips & salsa, $54

The food was so good the meat had so much flavor I give it a 10 outta 10 I like how they put grilled onions on the tacos makes them stand out from other Mexican restaurants and the server was really nice

Fried avocado!

Carna asada fries!

El pastor tacos platter!

And I forgot to take a photo of my plate: garlic shrimp plate with rice!

Everything was so tasty! And fresh homemade churros!!

Excellent food. The fish tacos were amazing, to die for. Full of fresh, generous, dark green, cilantro, etc. Amazing secret sauce and lovely nice hot fish in a perfectly battered crust. Yum! Service, they were a little short staffed. Atmosphere, three stars. They do not serve wine and there were not any booths to comfortably sit in, all the tables and chairs were too close to each other.

The restaurant next door was closed which turned out to be a wonderful thing for me! I always love birria and this did not disappoint. The salsa has a Chipotle flavor that I liked, not spicy. Restroom for customers. They do serve micheladas, but I didn't taste them. If I were hungrier, I would have tried the potato/bacon chorizo appetizer. Looked really good!

Cascadel Restaurant offers a great chile relleno, great salsa, and very unique tortilla chips. Oh, if you can take some heat, order taco zampiro!

We were not looking for dinner when we saw the Taco Tuesday sign shortly before 4pm. So, we ordered some Tuesday tacos, a chile relleno, and this mysterious "taco zampiro” that I have never heard of. I cannot say the Tuesday tacos are any special - certainly worth the $2 they charge nonetheless. Their chile relleno, however, is truly special. Slightly less cheesy than I am used to, it is flavored with some kind of fermented chili paste that I don't find in chile relleno elsewhere, and which I particularly like. (Maybe this is because it reminds me of a similar taste from my hometown. But I bet many people will like the distinct taste.) Taco zampiro also stood out, hotter than most tacos but very tender and smooth. (OK, we like hot food. No surprise here.) Their horchata is also good. Even though I cannot taste any difference, it comes in toquilla mugs:-)

The server was very nice, patiently answering our curious questions. One particular curiosity is their tortilla chips, less than 1mm (1/32”) thick, complimented by their green salsa, which also has a unique flavor that I particularly like and don’t find elsewhere. She even brought up contact card of their wholesale supplier. (Not that we will buy chips wholesale any time soon.)

From Main Street, Cascadel does not look special, even a little understated among Frogtown establishments. Inside is well lit with simple but elegant designs. Seating is comfortable. (They even has a downstairs dining area which is unusual for a small-town joint. I didn't look into it.) A sign encourages you to pay cash which I happily did. (A 4% surcharge will be added for credit card payments. This is very understandable for a small business like this.)

Was recommended by Brother-in-law. So surprised by the excellent flavors, quality and quantity. Flavor was delicate without the burn-out of the palate with excessive heat. Unusual offerings. Birria tacos, and quesadilla, amazing salsa, massive chicken mole burrito. Great thin crispy chips and salsa. Pretty long wait for food even though it was 4:45. But it was worth it. Traveling through the area and will definitely return next time.

Our family dined in and we loved every plate we had. For desert we had churros & cheese cake brownie home made by our server Lexi. Lexi was so courteous & sweet, she saw my son was not feeling well and offered him a tea. Definitely coming back, since we often visit Angels Camp.

Quaint place but awesome food. Didn't feel rushed. Chips and salsa are the BOMB. Prices are reasonable. Well worth the trip downtown.

It's been 10 months since I went the first time and I'm still daydreaming of it. My carnitas plate came out on a cookie sheet! The guacamole was amazing, Chile relleno was delish 😋 literally the only thing negative was no liquor .

I LOVE Mexican food and would eat it everyday...so when I say Cascabel has the best I've had...I mean it. It's authentic fresh and homemade deliciousness!! My husband had the tri tip taco special and I had nachos and chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Their green sauce is amazing and their homemade corn tortillas are super yummy! FYI...as of this post you can eat inside! Yeah!
