This shop has Always ALWAYS been so helpful. Got us in last minute to fix our car when they were busy. Fixed our fuel pump that another mechanic place was not very concerned for when we went in for a diagnosis. Their costs are always worth their thorough attention and loving care to your car. They know what they are doing ❤

Highly recommend anyone who takes pride in their vehicle. Alex just has the eye for detailing, he’s very particular and knows his products well. He did a headlight restoration as well as a detail on our Subaru and I’ll never take our car anywhere else ever again.

It's very hard these days to find an honest mechanic.... But I found one in Amador County at Stein's Auto Care. It's great to know that I have an honest mechanic that is fair and only gives you what you need it won't oversell you. Honest service. A great mechanic.

Honest, efficient, and great at what they do! But most of all HONEST!
I live in the bay area and had an issue as I was on my way up the mountains through Jackson. I pulled into Stein's, dropped off the truck and got a hotel. A couple hours later I got a call, an estimate, and by the next day my truck was fixed.
Some months later my engine light came on. I drove back up to Stein's and the initial response was "It looks like your injectors". That was a major bummer as that would be about a $3K or more repair. I left the truck then got a call back and they said both my batteries were ancient and almost dead. Replacing them should solve the problem.
These guys were honest and replaced the batteries instead of doing the massive job worth thousands of dollars. What mechanic does that? I would have never known it was only the batteries and not the injectors, but these guys did the honest thing and fixed only what I needed fixed!
I have been to so many mechanics over the years and the vast majority will up-sell you on anything. These guys were honest, efficient, competent!!!
I now drive the 2.5 hours whenever I need work done on my truck as they are the only ones I will trust!!

Everyone at Stein's Auto Care are professional. I will always take my car there. Stein is very knowledgeable about everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You will never go wrong there. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

They were a great price. Had our 60,000 mile checkup and rear brakes replaced and a new rear seal for around $700. At the dealership this would have been double the price. Will be using them in the future.

Stein and his team were very helpful with helping my fiancé and I diagnose an issue we where having with our Jeep on our way to Yosemite. We broke down across the street and another shop recommended that we go over to Stein’s. He was able to diagnose the issue quickly and order the part the we needed so he could get us in the first thing the next day. We were over 2,000 miles from home and despite being already booked full for 2 weeks he still snuck us into his schedule. Words cannot describe how thankful we are for Stein’s Auto Care. The whole team went above and beyond their duties to keep us comfortable in a town that was foreign to us. They suggested hotels, places to eat, and even offered to drive us somewhere while we waited for the Jeep to get fixed. The Jeep is now fixed and working great. We highly recommend Stein’s Auto Care weather your a local or just passing though Sutter Creek, CA.

We have done business with Stein before and today , as our car is stuttering and the check engine light was flashing, he was the first one we thought of going to. We got there and he was swamped to the teeth but he took us in and repaired it in less than an hour and got us back on our way home! The price was extremely fair and he basically saved us and our trunk full of groceries! So if anyone out there is looking for a great mechanic I highly recommend Stein's!

If you have a dodge, this is the place you want to go. I had a new steering box put on by another place and brought it back to that place twice telling them something wasn't right. Needless to say they couldn't figure it out. Brought it to Stein's and that figured out the issue and fixed it in an hour. Very knowledgeable mechanic's. Going forward their the only place I will bring my dodge!

Recomended by a local I took my Dodge to Stein.
My Dodge runs so good after a trip to Stein I decided to take my GMC 1 ton van in for an idle problem.
Stein is NOT just a Dodge shop.
Stein fixed the idle issue on my GMC and to my surprize it also runs noticably better than it was even before the idle problem.
Super stoked on my new mechanic...My Jeep is going in next.

Shortly after leaving Paso Robles and heading to the Amador County Fair the AC stopped working on my 20 year old 1 ton Ford truck. Stein's Auto Care located a replacement compressor and had me back on the road in 2 business days. They performed the work below the original estimate. I would highly recommend them.

Out of town with ABS light on. The guys at Stains were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They read our codes and assured us the 1999 Dodge 2500 ABS codes were only the bad sensor and we will be fine to return home.
