Fosters Freeze

It’s pretty similar to Culver’s, which apparently isn’t a California thing. They have a ton of ice cream options, including cones, banana split, sundaes, “twisters” (like Dairy Queen Blizzards), and root beer floats. Unique shake flavors like passion fruit, coffee, cherry, mint chip, and peach.
Burger was pretty solid too! I got the “Big Boss” which was soft, tasted like homemade grilled, plenty of cheese and topped with onion rings 👌🏼 overall friendly service and comfortable retro cafe/diner atmosphere.

The burgers and shakes are always good at Foster Freeze. Perhaps the Old Fashioned is the best burger in Oroville. The service is always prompt, the restaurant is always clean, and food made to order. The staff cares about quality and customer service. I hope the owners can keep the prices down due to the regulations requiring fast food workers make five bucks more than minimum wage.

Recommend the Old Fashioned with fries and a Oreo shake with hot fudge.

Hard to find places like this anymore. Every FF is owned independently. The one in Oroville is by far thee best FF I've ever been to. Its really not fast food. It tastes like and looks like it just came off the grille at home. Hearty portions. Everything is delicious!

This is an awesome local favorite that you should stop in and enjoy. The “Boss” burger is delicious with amazing flavors! Do the meal with rings or fries and a drink followed up with an ice cream of your picking! Staff are friendly, attentive and make the place shine!
Drive thru is quick with efficient service as well.

I love this place! The ice cream is definitely a fave, whether it's a sundae, twister, parfait, or cone, you can't go wrong. My favorite is the big boss combo. Their crinkle cut fries are always hot and fresh, and just the right amount of crispy. The staff sometimes leaves something to be desired, but I've never had a bad meal here and we've been eating here for almost 40 years!

I love taking my family here for multiple reasons. I love that we can get food and a treat at the same place, so that means less time and less driving around. I also appreciate the service there. Sometimes it gets really busy, but the employees seem to just keep things running as smoothly as possible, all with a smile. The bathrooms are usually clean and I appreciate the self serve fountain drinks. My kids like to make special mixes/custom flavors. Having the small sundae or cone come with the meal deals makes things simple as well. Thanks for helping me feed my family.

Fosters Freeze has fantastic customer service. Their burgers are cooked fresh and so delicious! When we get off the lake there's nothing better than a soft serve ice cream.

My uncle John worked his way up from dishwasher to half owner and then owner Way Back In The Sixties while they were still building the dam. I'm so happy it's still there and serving awesome burgers. He would be so happy.🍔👍😎

Friendly staff always courteous. Love that the food takes a little longer but you know its freshly made. Definitely one of my favorite places to go.
And love getting a hot fudge Sunday after my meal.

This place rocked. My hubby and I were craving a good juicy hot dot and that is what we got. Chili cheese dog so delicious! We were very skeptical at first, rode around town looking for another place planned earlier, but we didn't care for it so we went to Foster Freeze. We were not disappointed and will remember our time there. Thanks FF, Yummy!

Awesome burger restaurant. Well done burgers for a good price. I have only been here once and have not tried the milkshakes yet but can't wait to. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Oroville. I liked their selection of burgers, shakes, and more. I want to try them all!!!

Our car broke down in the drive thru on Mothers Day. Told the young lady at the drive up window and immediately the staff sprung into action. A gentleman came out and helped me push the car out of the drive thru area and into the car park. We were given plenty of water while we waited for a tow truck and our meal that we had ordered ( before the breakdown) was given to us for free. I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and generosity. They went above and beyond! They made a stressful situation on an extremely hot day much easier to deal with. Thanks guys!

Really nice workers , clean an bathroom isn't wasted like in most oroville fast food restaurants. Food it always good , sure miss the real ranch we used to get in the little cups..
