We were a party of six last night at Camps and we had an all-around great experience. Our server, Emily, did a great job and was very attentive and helpful. I also found other members of the staff to be very kind and courteous.
The food was very good and well prepared. Two people from our party of six had the pancetta wrapped chicken and loved it. I had a ribeye steak, which was excellent and just as I had ordered it.
Keep up the good work Camps!!

I loved this restaurant as it had great tasting food such as the grilled shrimp salad. Ribs, burgers and creme brûlée. Yummy! Everyone one in my party loved their food. And, the service was great as well. Well worth the price, which was steep.

I've had an excellent time at the camps restaurant/greenhorn Creek resort. I was recently here for a close Friend's wedding and had nothing but a fantastic experience. The venue was fantastic for a wedding with excellent views during sunset. I had the pleasure of dealing with manager Paige and bartender Neriah who were able to go above and beyond what I needed. I will definitely be recommending the place in the future. Thank you Paige, Neriah and all involved!

Camps Restaurant

While staying at WorldMark in Angels Camp, we were gifted a certificate for Camps Restaurant. The staff is friendly and very approachable.
Our Fried Ravioli and Bread with Butter came to the table rather quickly. I truly liked the ravioli but I loved the bread. I am very much a carb lover as much as I am a steak lover. So a warm crusty bread and soft uber spreadable butter is one of life’s greatest pleasures (yes, the bread is an $8 charge).

However my enthusiasm couldn’t continue throughout our meal. Although my Rib-eye Steak was cooked perfectly the way I like it, the vegetables on the side were very drab and overcooked. The spicy Brussels Sprouts had a good flavor. I wish they were slightly spicier, but I enjoyed them nonetheless.

My wife’s Sole Almandine was a tad under seasoned and her vegetables were as drab and overcooked as mine. A quick blanche then saute would have done wonders for the sole. In contrast, the mashed potatoes she ordered on the side were perfect.

For dessert, we ordered the Creme Brûlée.
This was the perfect way to end our meal here. The creme brûlée was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness.

Loved the strawberry lemon drop cocktail. Try the cauliflower steak appetizer.

Definitely an improvement over the last few years. Hopefully they bring back family pizza nights and continue to develop options for families.

Food was not the best. I've eaten there many times & the service & food was tops! Not this time. Service was ok, not what I had in the past. She seemed to be bothered, and we were the only ones eating on the patio.

We ate here twice in 2022 and food was OK. Not great, didn't live up to the lovely scenery, but the burgers were OK.
The second visit, much of their menu was unavailable. I asked if that was typical. The waitress explained a freezer had died and they lost a lot of food. That seemed like bad luck.
Ate here early 2023. I ordered the ribs. Inedible. Impossibly undercooked. Could not get a steak knife through a single rib. Ended up eating the fries and taking the ribs to re-cook at home.
The only way my husband got his beer was to go get it himself. We ate outside. There were only two tables in play, both two-tops. Even so, the two waitresses seemed completely overwhelmed.
I finally asked what was happening in the kitchen. The waitress said something like, "Don't ask."
We haven't been back since. It's a shame, since the grounds are so attractive.
I just looked at recent reviews, hoping things had turned around. But I see a lot of 1-star reviews.

Over the last 20 years I have eaten at Camps about 6 times which has never been a good experience! Recently, I tried again and ordered fish and chips. The fish was like eating a surf board. The chips were reasonable but just barely! Thankfully the water tasted good. Camp’s prices are out of sight (22 bucks for a hamburger) for the poor quality food they serve!

Our waitress was awesome, very professional and attentive. She wore glasses. I don’t remember her name. The other waitress that was working seemed very negative. The last two times I have been here the food has been horrible. I decided to try one more time Friday, and was immediately disappointed. I ordered the halibut it was over cooked so much you could barely cut through it with a knife. I took one bite and realized why it was so over cooked because it was rotten.

Well——October 6th was our 1st experience with the changes made at Camps. We’ve had nothing but excellent dining experiences at Camps and always looked forward to the venue, the service, the wine, and the fine cuisine. UP Till NOW!!!
Upon entering, the service we received was indifferent. None of the professional demeanor we were accustomed to in past visits. Our reservation wasn’t recorded. Outside dining wasn’t available! Our server seemed to have two responsibilities, the bar and the tables. The results——slow drink order and slow delivery. In addition, the bar had NO Chardonnay whatsoever.
NO bread and olive oil to start——unless you payed an additional $8.00.
The food, fish and steak, was great and I won’t complain about the small size of the meat. We had to pay extra for a starch portion, listed as a side dish. We got risotto that came in a bowl and looked like oatmeal. It was a plain presentation but tasted fine.
All in all———I think I’ll pass on any future evening dining at Camps.

Service sucks! Food cold and took an hour for a pastrami sandwich and onion rings. Took 20 minutes to get our first (watered down) drink and to get another my husband had to walk to the bar and order himself.
