I was very excited to eat at Michelin star Rania since Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines! The atmosphere is terrific and really added to the experience. But, the party of women celebrating a birthday was totally obnoxious since they were so loud and there doesn't seem to be much sound reduction measures in the main dining room in the back. Service was great and smooth. Very informative. The food has traditional flavors with modern flair. Delicious! The cocktails were also very nice with showmanship tricks with smoke and in ice cube lights. Despite the loud party, the experience was excellent and would highly recommend.

This place is our all time favorite in DC. Their food is spot on. The flavors are great and drinks are amazing. This is our second time here and boy we were not disappointed. So much fun & drama in presenting the drinks. Their Prix-fix menu was very good, with good number of options for vegetarian & non-vegetarian. They do accommodate allergies and tastes. They have good collection of wines as well.

We had a lovely birthday dinner at Rania. Fantastic service atmosphere and delicious food that tantalizes the pallet. We were blown away by the lamb and the beautiful wine pairing for their four course meal. So many incredible flavors I highly recommend the morels and paneer. Our favorite culinary visit in Washington DC. We will be back again. 10/10

We enjoyed our experience at Rania. The portions were perfect, and each course had their own authentic uniqueness to them. The oysters were fantastic and lamb was tender and flavorful. The service workers were highly professional and politely meticulous when they were explaining the courses and recommendations.

I also highly recommend their cocktails. They are top notch. Considering they are located in DC, they aren’t too expensive either.

Would definitely visit again.

Absolutely memorable and enjoyable dining experience. Wonderful and attentive service. Beyond imaginable flavor profile. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Made the birthday celebration extra special with their own added touches. Truly incredible! Come here - you won’t regret it.

Surprisingly lively for Michelin-rated fine dining. The wait staff is all soft spoken so that was an unusual juxtaposition.

About 13 tables were occupied when my wife and I made a last minute reservation. Be warned - I don’t think their easy availability will last!

The menu as shown is a price fixed four course menu where you choose each course. The waiter gave some recommendations which were inline with our own choices. Oysters. Lamb. Morels. Pork Loin. Chaat. Chickpeas. All delicious.

The waiter offered an extra course of Maryland crab dumplings which we got as well.

The drinks are gorgeous and tasty and creative. I had an edible butterfly flower or something on the top of mine!

The one sleeper about this place is the sauces and naan! You want to ask for naan by the first or second course (it comes with the third) and use it to to thoroughly enjoy the sauces left over with your dishes.

This was like a smoky, French inspired sauce delight and I’m all for it. We may go back next week to do it all again!!

This was an incredible and memorable experience. From start to finish we felt welcomed and valued as customers. The service was perfect: attentive and detailed without ever being overwhelming or ostentatious. The food was incredible. Every bite was an explosion of flavors, perfectly balanced and complemented by elegant and intriguing textures. Aromas were also enlightening. We smelled beautiful herbal bouquets, enticing smokey scents and complex medleys of spice, sweetness and other more mysterious notes. All of our senses were alight from start to finish. Portions were perfect. I was full but not stuffed. With many different options to select from, this is an experience that will be fresh even after many visits. At the incredibly reasonable price point I see no reason not to! I was blown away by the quality of this Michelin experience at its price compared to others in the area which cost much more and deliver either an equal or lesser experience. I can't wait to return.

Extravagant interior design, feels rich and elegant inside. Love the black and gold touches. Visiting the bathroom in itself was an experience with the design. Service was stellar, the wait staff was attentive and each meal came out quickly. Enough staff present who always made sure our table was clean and waters full. Big fan of not having to wait on food to come out, especially when your parking meter has a limit on it. Cocktails were brought out in a very creative manner, have your phones ready to capture the moment! Lots of food and each plate was scrumptious! A modern take on Indian cuisine for sure!

Such good food and such a great price for what you get! We parked in a garage nearby but there is street parking around. Dim lighting and soothing music, we definitely enjoyed our experience here. I ordered the Anaritha cocktail and my brother ordered The Crimson Kiss formula. I liked both but preferred the Crimson cocktail. We each chose one item from each of the courses (definitely recommend coming here with 3 or 4 people and trying everything).

For our first course, we ordered the Laccha Aloo Chaat, the Stuffed Morels and the Shrimp Koliwada. I personally loved the stuffed morels and the shrimp. The Shrimp was crispy and the sauce was good but just a bit too spicy but good nonetheless.

For our second course, we opted for the Lamb Cheela, the Prince Edward Island Oysters and the White Asparagus with Scallops. I definitely recommend the Lamb and the Scallops. I didn't mind the oysters but the sauce didn't pair well in my opinion. Similarly cooked to an Oyster Rockefeller, slightly cooked.

For our third course, we chose the Beef Short ribs, thr Lamb Shoulder Rogan Josh and the Hay-aged Pork Loin Vindaloo. We absolutely loved everything and definitely recommend all three of these. This main course did come with rice and Naan and lentils, all which were terrific pairings for the Saucy dishes. We did also opt for the special Dungeness crab dumplings which were a great addition.

For our dessert, we picked one of each but if there's any that is a must try, it's definitely the Shrikhand Mousse. Best dessert hands down. We didn't mind the other two but this was super refreshing and delicious.

Service was nice and consistent overall. Would definitely recommend coming here and I will definitely be coming back!

Great bunch spot! $55pp for brunch at a Michelin star restaurant—incredible taste and incredible value. (Bottomless mimosas are $35pp and bartender was awesome, attentive, and knew the menu well). Plenty of vegetarian options on brunch menu.

Went to Rania to celebrate my birthday and we were blown away by the gastronomical delight it turned out to be. Service was truly exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Definitely going back again and again! The menu selection stands out amongst other Indian fares in the DMV region. Only taking one star out of the ambience because it was quite noisy and we would have preferred to have a quieter dinner date.

Such an amazing experience. The tasting menu is a great value at $90 per person for 4 courses. The cocktails were delicious. I would definitely return again.

It is an experience. Worth taking. The ambience is cosy and classic with soft folk Indian instrumental playlist. It’s has Indian touch with modern American culture. The staff is polite and gives you privacy while you are enjoying your meal. After every course the staff will sanitise the table and change your cutlery and dishes. The food served was authentically flavourful. I tried oysters, caviar and truffle mushrooms for the first time here and felt something different as compared to many other places. The meat was properly cooked and was so firm that it will melt in your mouth. Totally satisfied. No doubt, it’s an expensive restaurant but the experience is worth taking. Also their cocktail menu is very unique. We tried Layla and majnu and it was so good. One was with rose liquor and other with saffron liquor

Fantastic four course experience during my first time at Rania. Drinks included the Rang Birange (in the chest) as well as a wine pairing.

1st course - Chicken Kofta - A great start to the meal and beautiful presentation

2nd course - North Point Oysters - A unique and delectable take on oysters. Highly recommended for oyster fans looking for something different.

3rd course - Lobster with Caviar - I do not remember the specific name here as it was a special offering not on the listed menu. Fantastic execution and a must for seafood fans.

4th course - Mishti Doi - The star of the meal and personally one of the best desserts I've ever had, it is reminiscent of a dreamcicle. It was so good I ended up ordering the Keasari Mango and Chocolate Tart, both of which were good but not at the same level as the Mishti Doi.

Overall this was a sublime experience, one that fans of fine dining and indian cuisine will likely appreciate greatly.

We had a great time at Rania: from amuse-bouche to the ending guava candy, nothing was disappointing. Also, we were nicely taken care of by the waiter.

The food is generally very good, we were particularly impressed by the sauce, which often bring some pleasant surprises.

For the first dish, the chicken meat ball and cauliflowers are both very nice. Simple food that is really yummy. For the second dish, the Chana masala panisse has a nice mix of different flavors, make it a very interesting dish. For the main dish, we really love the sauce of the monk fish and couldn’t stop ourselves to finish it with Naan. The short ribs are also very yummy, with a nice touch from the mushroom. For the dessert, the mango ice cream is a must try - we all have this “wow” expression after the first taste.

Highly recommended for a nice date or girls night out! And I can’t wait to go back!

Great, professional service. Delicious food.
Thanks to the chef for making me a special fruit bowl desert to accommodate my ‘no sugar’ diet. That’s the kind of personal attention that made this place 5 stars for me.

We were lucky enough to dine at Rania right before it received its Michelin star, and we could not agree more with this recognition. Each dish was delicious and a beautiful display of fine Indian cuisine. Don’t miss out on the cocktails either!

This is my favorite restaurant in DC! I have been eating here since they opened and the flavors keep me coming back. These dishes (and cocktails!) are wonderfully delicious and artistic. The restaurant clearly puts a lot of thought and creativity into each dish and drink, and their menu is constantly evolving. Service is fantastic as well, always super helpful and attentive. This place is worth the money (though I will miss their a la carte options now that they've earned a well-deserved Michelin star). The 3-course meal is very filling. Congratulations on your new star!!

This place exceeded all expectations. I’m honestly speechless, as a lover of Indian food and pre fixe dinner spots this was a must try when I was in DC. It was simply amazing and I hope to be able to make it back again.
