My baby walrus sized dog was paralyzed from the neck down in November. He was a wet noodle. A 130lb sack of potatoes with jello legs. I’m sure we looked crazy too from the shock, and the sleep deprivation. We were referred here by the neurologist after his surgery, and Animal Wellness Center of OC accommodated everything. They booked us in 2x a week, and we showed up religiously. The entire facility celebrated the day Maximus took his first steps.

Dr. Ellis is an absolute gem. After meeting Dr. Ellis, I knew we were in the right place. They have a full sized pool, which has been essential in Maximus’ recovery. We also utilize the underwater treadmill now that Max is strong enough to use it. Every session before hydrotherapy, Dr. Ellis lugs my massive dog around doing floor rehab exercises, which I’m positive has not been easy- especially in the beginning.

As the weeks went by I kept noticing different modifications they made to accommodate my dog- putting mats down on the ramp to the pool, putting towels down on the scary parts of the floor. I would say at this point they love Maximus almost as much as I do, and they’re just as invested in his recovery as I am.

I am so grateful that Lourdes and Barb created this place. Thank you Dr. Ellis and Alexa, Kelly, Lourdes, and everyone else for the hard work you all put in- and continue to put in- rehabbing Maximus. Animal Wellness Center of OC saved his life. Thank you for being part of his village.

My dog Izzy LOVES it here! She does acupuncture, laser, physical therapy and her favorite is hydrotherapy! She went from being scared and unable to walk to a happy healthy pup, who literally runs into the wellness center with excitement, in just a few months! I can’t recommend them enough!

Lourdes, Barb, and the staff at Animal Wellness of OC is by far the best center we could have brought Ozzie to. Ozzie is a senior large breed with the standard age related physical issues. Kelly and the staff at AWOOC make his weekly swim therapy fun and stimulating. When the dog gets excited and eagerly looks forward to his swim therapy, you know they are doing something really great.

On Sundays, The Family Vet has the clinic and we see Dr. T-Na Tran for acupuncture. My Angel LuLu has bradycardia and back disc problems, so we're working on these health issues. If you've a pet in need, this is your go-to place. Thank you Dr. Tran and Elias for the 20+ years of taking care of my furry kids❤❤

Dr. V is absolutely amazing with our dog. The time she takes, carringness, compassion are top notch. She gets excited to see Kelly when it's swim time. The staff has been great with her and our family. Keep it up AW team.

Met the owner and toured the venue. Wonderful resource for dedicated fur parents seeking hydrotherapy and other treatments for their babies. The facility and team are top notch - you can tell by the pride, detail and good vibes at the venue. Highly recommend.

Wonderful facility and the underwater treadmill has really helped my dog Panda regain muscle after his knee surgery. The acupuncture has also been great. My dog is a rescue that’s always nervous around new people so it’s been amazing to find a place that knows how to work with him. Highly recommend!

Amazing staff! Everyone is so welcoming and will love and care for your pet like their own. My dog Milo went in for Acupunture sessions, he felt so calm relaxed to the point he’d fall right to sleep. Highly recommend Acupunture, my 14 year old Boston Terrier has shown soooo much improvement with just 5 sessions! Highly highly recommend!

Wow. Cannot say enough about how amazing the staff and owners of this business are! They truly are invested in the development of your dog. Brodie has had two FHO surgeries. He is not a dog dog only a human dog and they have been so patient with us both!! I feel completely comfortable with their treatments of my special little pup. The surgeon that did both his FHO surgeries was SHOCKED when Brodie put weight on his foot immediately after his second surgery. It’s all due to their care and dedication.

I bring both of my dogs here now and absolutely love it - one is getting acupuncture following his diagnosis of early stage kidney disease. With these treatments along with a new diet, his kidney values have decreased!! We are so happy. My other pup enjoys the healthy dog swim sessions. It’s just him, a swim instructor, and the pool. We get to watch and he came home after the first session absolutely pooped. It’s such a welcoming environment compared to your typical vets office. Highly recommend!

Amazing place! the staff and doctors truly love our fur babies. They have a large pool for dogs to learn how to swim or do water therapy and have a water treadmill. My dog was dragging his leg due to a few issues of arthritis in his back and knee. His treatment has been acupuncture and treadmill therapy, his is walking and doesn’t drag his leg. Highly recommend them best place 🥇

This place is nothing short of amazing! Right when you walk in you are greeted like you belong. My dog was very cozy and felt right at home as Lourdes and Barb greeted her with love. My dog got adjusted by Dr. Block, the chiropractor, who helped her as she was favoring one side to squat on. After that she got water therapy in the pool and became less scared of the water. Thanks Animal Wellness Center of OC for helping my dog and taking care of us like family!

A great wellness center owned and run by Barb and Lourdes who LOVE pets and will treat yours like their own. They adjust the treatment plan to suit your pet even if they have never swam or been in a pool before, giving them time to adjust, get used to the pool and swimming. Our little senior had never swam before - so it was all new to him. Lourdes is so experienced with the range of how dogs react to hydrotherapy - she knew exactly how to make everything ok and fun for our dog, Duke! We are so thankful that everyone there had patience with us, and Duke, and didn't rush him, they just treated him so gently and encouragingly. He was so excited to come back for his second swim today!

I love this place, my dog is starting to feel better. They care for my dog with love. I highly recommend this physical therapy for your furry friend.

This is a great program with great staff, Barb, Lordis, Carrie and Genvieve. They are doing such a tremendous job helping our very overweight service dog, our beautiful lab, Barnabas, to lose that weight, learn to swim (really) and develop muscles! He's lost 5 lbs and we are well on our way to success in getting him down to the 95-100lbs WE want (but not HIS goal). We highly recommend this wonderful program with such an amazing, highly professional and friendly staff (and the facility is excellent too).

I am so happy I found this animal rehabilitation center after having a bad experience with another local rehabilitation center. Animal Wellness is a state of the art facility with true dog lovers and professionals. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. Lordess and Barb are amazing female business owners offering a much needed service to the area. Dr. Volguris is overseeing my puppy's journey back to health. She is an expert in her field and a wealth of knowledge. I trust her whole heartedly. I knew this was the place for us instantly and they just keep impressing me.

Their facility is owner friendly and animal owners are encouraged to be apart of the healing.

I could go on and on and on with complements but the best compliment is my puppy is healing because of the staff at Animal Wellness. I am so grateful to them

So fortunate to have been recommended to come here. My 11 yo Rottweiler has osteosarcoma in her rear leg and at this point swimming is the only real exercise she can do. Fortunately it's her favorite thing. We have her getting acupuncture and swim therapy once a week and its her favorite thing.

Look no further for REAL quality service.
I have been training dogs for almost ten years and have never been to such a place.
If your looking for an easy fix, like a bandaid, maybe this might not be your place.
This places offer alternative and advanced methods that actually help your fur babies.
I love all the staff there as they are well educated and soooo helpful.
I have used the hydrotherapy services and have scheduled another dog for aquatic chiropractic.
And hopefully today I will see the nutritionist!

Incredible place for your pets' healing. I've never seen anything so thoughtfully conceived and made into a reality. Beyond words beautiful but with pets in mind. If you really care about your furry friends' health and healing, you must consider Animal Wellness Center.
