Anepalco Mexican Restaurant

Wow! What an experience!

Walked in a few minutes early for our reservation and were greeted warmly and seated promptly.

Our server was awesome, polite, and very helpful when choosing our menu items. 😀

Chips and salsa arrived. Whole fried corn tortillas are staged in a cute spiral holder. The three salsas were unique and delicious.

Wife ordered a spicy drink called Spicy Y Flaca. Tequila, cucumber-problano, and lime juice. Very spicy and flavorful.

I ordered their Tónic-O. This used Brokers gin infused elderflower liqueur, lime juice, Topo Chico, and tonic water. So amazing!

Wife ordered the Not PA'ella. This dish was outstanding!! It was full of shrimp, calamari, mussels, ribeye, chicken, chorizo, cotija, and poblano rice.

My entree was the Maine Lobster Enchiladas. Two enchiladas stuffed with Maine lobster meat! With green salsa, cream, cabbage, cotija, rice, beans, and Oaxaca cheese.

Our finale was this gorgeous flan. Topped with toasted shredded coconut. 😋 😋

When the check was dropped off, it was in this little drawer. How cute!!??

We were so lucky to find this place, and enjoy what may have been one of our favorite meals in California ever! Gabby helped us to choose the perfect meals, and was also our cocktail guide! Our hand crafted, organic cocktails were complex and delicious, and they have a great tequila list! I think the standout was the chicken mole! It's hard to find amazing mole, but look no further! Give this place a try, you won't be sorry!

Amazing food. All of the salsas taste great. There’s even something special about their tortillas/tostadas.
Portions are nice. I had the duck which is a small size, but fills you up and hits the spot. Drinks are refreshing and pretty strong.
Service was very pleasant. I took family that doesn’t speak English and they felt respected.

Super cute restaurant. Excellent customer service and the food is bomb - I had their steak taco... yummy and also their watermelon 🍉 pineapple 🍍 fresca... ❤

Amazing food and service! I was a bit unsure given the restaurant location attached to a hotel but this restaurant was nothing like a hotel restaurant. Rather, it was a cozy, niche Mexico-centric restaurant with amazing dishes. The black beans were to die for with a bit of morita pepper in it and the Oaxacan mole was a perfect balance of heat and flavor. Highly recommended!!

The brunch food here was amazing! But the wait was not. Our group of five waited 40 minutes to be seated despite arriving only 15 minutes after opening at 11am, so definitely recommend reservations. Additionally, food took another 50 minutes to come out, probably because there was another large party ahead of us. For a leisurely brunch that's fine, but if you're in a hurry this definitely isn't the place for you. As for the food, every dish looked and tasted excellent. Presentation, flavors, and texture were all spot on with the chilaquiles divorciados that I ordered, with runny eggs and just a little crunch in the chips. House made tortillas were colorful and delicious. Coffee service was generous as we waited. Cochinta pibil, Chile relleno and regular chilaquiles my friends ordered also looked amazing and I'd definitely want to come back here sometime and try more dishes. But next time, I'll make reservations.

The corn tortillas and three salsas they provide for an appetizer (free) are great - you don’t really need to order an additional app.

I got the queso fundido, which was excellent, albeit stringy. The corn tortillas it came with were soft and oily, but in a…good way?

The main dishes, mole chicken and braised short rib, were really good! DEFINITELY get the braised short rib. Comes with corn cooked with bacon. The mole chicken got really old and too rich after about four bites.

We spent $80, tips included. A nice time!

Great service. Tasty food. A much needed break from the world of masks and distancing. We went on a quiet Saturday evening and were able to relax with some dinner and drinks. Service was commendable. We felt very well taken care of. Consistent visits from our waiter as well as others.

Great tasting food & excellent service. I had the enchiladas, my date had the rib & we shared the guacamole as appetizer. I love the decoration & vibe of the place. Just keep in mind that on Thursdays they close at 9 pm. I don't know the other days. Next time we'll have dessert. The choices sounded really good.

How can I start?

Food was delicious, service was great and all the employees that passed by the table where I was at were so polite. I’m a foodie so I try a lot of restaurants, some that I go back and some that I don’t but let me tell you something, I’ll definitely come back to this restaurant again. I had the Enchiladas and my wife got the Chilaquiles and for our dessert we had the guava French Toast and we weren’t disappointed by it. Another dimension of Mexican food.Wagyu  tacos. Hanger steak chilaquiles. Great environment and fantastic price point. Great time thank you.

The food is AMAZING! From the presentation to the atmosphere and service. Gabby our server was excellent, very pleasant and kind. We had the Chilequiles, Torta Cubano, Guava French Toast and the Amazing Flan (not pictured)

If you are tired of the nasty Mexican-American food that is all over southern California please visit Anepalco. This small restaurant offers top Mexican cuisine with an authentic gourmet style. Their menu offers a variety of traditional Mexican recipes and don't forget to try their amazing cocktails. Expect to spend some money, but I guarantee you that the experience is totally worth it.

Beautifully presented, delicious food. Waiters suggested fabulous combination of healthy ingredients bursting with flavor. Fabulous drinks and very nice ambience. I'll hurry back! Thanks.

The food was amazing!! Service was excellent! We sat outside and it was very nice. I highly recommend Anepalco!

Enjoyed the inside atmosphere plants hanging from the ceiling, rustic tables, colorful pillows on benches. The enchiladas $13 very filling and delicious.

Always great food ask for Louis server or if you sit at the bar Gabriela will take good care of you. Love this place.

I had the absolute best Chile relleno here. It was phenomenal. Great atmosphere, great service. Not quiet but it wasn't too loud. Can have a conversation. Lively atmosphere!
