Dr. Carlson and his staff are excellent..very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Great beside manner! He performs diagnostic testing required to determine an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. He follows up to ensure his treatment plans are working. It is easy to schedule appointments and I can get in to see him in a reasonable period of time. I have every confidence in him and would definitely recommend him. Also, he has an in-house pain management department which is very convenient and provides good and effective service.

After suffering a painful back issue, I was recommended to Dr Carlson. He is a very busy physician but I was offered an appt with him within a short time after my injury. He is very personable and recommended several tests to see what was going on. I met with him once the results were in and he offered recommendations for me as well as a referral to a specific doctor for further evaluation and treatment for an issue his specialty does not handle. Overall if I need orthopedic care in the future, Dr Carlson would be my choice.

Dr. Carlson successfully operated on my damaged neck 16 years ago. I was grateful then to have access to his excellent services and I remain thankful for his recent routine lower back exam and recommendations. Dr. Carlson listens closely to my symptoms and carefully reviews my tests and history. That combined with his years of experience and medical achievement gives me great trust and appreciation to him and the entire Restore Orthopedics and Spine Center in our community.

Dr. Carlson and his staff have all been very caring and astute. I have had multiple back issues through out my life. The restore Center has been a place of refuge for someone like me. Its an all in one facility that is able to handle all of my needs in one place. Dr. Carlson listens before he speaks. He is thoughtful and cares deeply in any concerns and questions you may have. I was referred to Dr. Carlson by a Neurosurgeon in the Riverside area .
It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Carlson. He was very professional and showed empathy and respect as well. He answered all my questions while showing me all imaging and test results.
Dr. Carlson also explained my options and the potential outcomes both the positive, and any possible complications or risks involved. These aligned with another surgeons opinion I had consulted with.

My wife Laura was also with me and felt confident as well after meeting with Dr. Carlson.
The surgery was done in two parts and I remained in the hospital several days as needed. I was then released to continue healing at home . A physical therapist came to my home to help and monitor my progress during this initial part of my recovery.
After about a month, I went in for my first post -op appointment and was looking and fe ccreling better. My scans showed excellent alignment and I also started bone stimulation therapy 4 hrs a day.
My second post op appointment was at about 3.5 months out. I am walking a mile at least every day with almost no scar (especially considering the extent of this surgery).
Currently, I am still wearing my brace and undergoing bone growth therapy daily as instructed.
Dr.Carlson and Staff at Restore Orthopedics and Spine Center have been fantastic and caring.
I know that complete recovery will take time, I still have tenderness and some pain as I continue healing from such an intensive surgery, but every day is getting better and all previous pain is gone. I have no reservations in recommending Dr.Carlson to anyone.

Update: 3-5-22
I just went in for my 8 month check up and I am doing great! I am much more active with pain only in the late afternoon after an active day. I am watching how I lift and bend and twist, but my balance and strength are definitely coming back. I am still working on my range of motion which is probably the most challenging, but I am seeing progress. Many thanks again to Dr. Carlson, Dr.Scott and all the staff at "restore" Orthopedics and Spine Center.
My next review will be at the one year meeting.

Wonderful doctor and great staff. I had really hurt my back and didn't feel like I was ever going to get over the pain. But here I am back to normal, pain free. I can't say enough about his great great over the top staff

Dr Carlson has been treating me for back issues since 2002. He has performed 3 major surgeries on my spine and I think he's wonderful. I had Scoliosis correction in 1976, which caused problems with the healthy part of my spine . Doctor Carlson reconstructed my spine effectively, allowing me to continue working as a PE teacher, and engage in my other activities, completely pain free. He has a way of putting me at ease. He is a kind, gentle man with the most wonderful bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone.
I feel I should also say that although this surgeon can work miracles, it is also the patient's responsibility to follow directions, which I did, because I wanted a great result. I followed his directions for recovery to the letter. I also exercise to keep my muscles and bones strong. I believe my wonderful results are a combination of his skills and my desire to work at staying healthy.
Great results require teamwork between the surgeon and the patient. Long live Dr. Carlson!

During this Pandemic, as an at-risk patient, I was a bit apprehensive visiting a new facility. Let me rest assure you that , the minute I walked in everyone, including the patients were so happy and so positive to be there.
I encountered not only a very professional staff , but very caring and concerned for your well-being.

Dr. Carlson has treated me for my back injuries at work for the last 10+ years and he has helped me get through the worst of times with pain management. I can no longer work at the job I'm doing because of the injuries, however, Dr. Carlson cares about my quality of life and living a full life with what I can still do. His recommendations with therapy and a different approach for me on what I am capable of doing without Re-injuring or having a major disability in the future is greatly appreciated. Staff from the front office to Dr. Carlson were wonderful: prompt and on schedule, Precise, yet detailed discussion of my condition. prognosis, and treatment options were given. Even though this is a very busy office, my questions were answered thoroughly without seeming rushed. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Gregory Carlson is a highly intelligent skilled surgeon. It's obvious he cares about his patients and I would not let any other surgeon operate on me. He truly wants the best outcome for his patients. It can't be easy being a surgeon seeing people in pain constantly. Just remember he is a doctor not a magician. Its important to continue your physical therapy & exercise weekly to minimize your pain. I highly recommend Dr. Carlson, I rarely have low back pain.

Dr. Carlson is working hard to get my surgery approved. He explained what procedures I need to have done to fix my neck. I'm confident he will get me what I need to resolve my neck issues. My hope is I can be free of constant and radiating pain.

Great Doctor that explains diagnosis and treatment options thoroughly. He’s conservative when it comes to surgery, and gives the pros and cons, which enables you to make a better decision for your body. I’ve recommended him to two other friends of mine that have back issues as well and they are both very satisfied with Dr. Carlson.

Dr. Carlson is personable and takes time to go over what you want and what he recommends. He communicates at your level. This is my second time using Dr. Carlson for a different procedure. I would not return to him if I didn't feel he was top notch in his field and performance.
