I have been taking lessons from Dr Seth for long time now. He is a master teacher and not just because of his expertise as a guitar player. Seth has all of the elements of a great teacher: he is patient, insightful and kind. I would give him ten stars, but they only allow five. Go to Dr Seth for guitar lessons, you'll be so glad that you did.

I worked with Seth from the end of November 2022 to around late August or September 2023. I have nothing but extremely positive things to say about Seth and I am glad to have him as a teacher. My primary interest was classical guitar, so we focused but added an improvisational twist to it. In short, my lessons with Seth were a very fascinating mix of classical and jazz traditions. I'm very grateful to have had this experience. It certainly was unlike any other music learning experience I've ever had with a classically trained teacher, where most things are done by rote. If you have a kid who wants to learn guitar, don't send them to a classically trained teacher unless you want them to hate guitar! Send them to Seth, where they'll actually learn to love music. If you are an adult like me looking to get into guitar, whether you want to study classical or jazz, Seth can accomodate both. Thank you, Seth!

Seth is much more than a guitar teacher. At our first lesson, I noticed that he referred to his students as “players,” which already made me feel like one! His approach to teaching is very holistic, considering hand position and comfort with the size of the instrument, as well as individually tailoring his lessons to student’s needs. What I find most impressive is that while Seth’s academic credentials are outstanding, he is approachable and down-to-earth. I felt at ease as a new player. I'm also getting back into songwriting, and Seth’s overall musicality and expertise in both arranging, transcription, and composition have been very helpful in giving me the confidence to develop my own work. I've seen him play at professional gigs, and he is also an outstanding guitarist. He even provides performance opportunities for players. I highly recommend him!

I only took lessons with Seth for about 3 months. However, for such a short term, the experience was very valuable and has been long lasting. He was very clever by tailoring the lessons to fit your personal style and interests suitably. He also provided clear and comprehensive homework based on each week's lesson, which, as a college student, I appreciated and utilized very much.

For me, the price of services was reasonable based on the credentials, reputation, and experience he brought to the table.

The commute was the most burdensome aspect of the lessons for me. It was about 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back. But I took biweekly lessons which fit my school schedule better.

Overall, very positive experience and would happily and hopefully start up again when my schedule permits it.

I recently had the pleasure of watching Dr. G (Seth/guitar) and Oliver (vocals/supporting guitar) perform. They were a delight to listen to as I enjoyed my brunch! I witnessed them take a request for a Beatles song they have never performed before, and after listening to the song while on their break were able to perform the piece! Impressive!

I’ve learned how to break down the songs I want to play into an easier arrangement, then adding all of the details after practicing a song chunk by chunk, and finally adding all of the smaller details, down to the nuances. I, like doubtless many hobbyists, have played guitar off and on, self-taught, for many years, and on the odd occasion that I would commit to long hours of self-guided practice, I would experience some degree of improvement on my own. But without any guidance, I was also developing sloppy and unproductive playing habits, and I wasn't developing a sense of musical literacy, which is important to me, since I want to be able to write my own music.

It hasn't been until my lessons with Dr. Seth that I've made the kinds of meaningful strides that I had been looking for all this time. Dr. Greenberg offers his students music instruction which pulls from a rare and strong mix of his own formal music education, his experiences as a performer in a variety of styles, and the ability to share that knowledge effectively with students from a variety of backgrounds. Seth once told me to think of yourself as musician and not simply a guitar player. This pretty much resonates throughout every lesson of his as he guides the student in building up creative and technical confidence in approaching their musical education. And it's fun. I have tried a number of other teachers in the past and his patient instruction and guidance have given me the skill set to become a local jazz performer with other local jazz musicians. Later on my family hired him for a performance at Valentines event, he has variety of a list with different types of songs.
